I have been on a gear binge since I bought my MCRS saddle a month or so ago. My old saddle is a plain bunsun style 2 d-ringed strap. That's when I realized how old school my methods were, and sometimes still are. DRT and a Blake's hitch with no split tail. I'm still gear bingeing and got a RR, WR, and have a new HC for my 16 strand DRT ropes. Have a ZZ also on a nice Yale. I see the pros and cons of all and each has its own dedicated rope. Exception being the RR and RW both sharing a 200' calamine. Now I just have to start practicing SRT.

Craig, after several weeks of daily climbing SRT, you'll be absolutely blown away with your old ways! I went through the same scenario myself, several years ago. I just use Ddrt when I'm pruning really large canopied trees. Lately, I've been working DSRT more and more. I'm absolutely loving it. I'm able to get to more places than I ever thought were possible. As for being a gear addict, I had to draw the line at, no more than 3 of anything. I'm still struggling with that theory, several devices I still have 4-6 of. The only device I couldn't get accustomed to was the "Hitchclimber", only 2 of them, 1 of which, I still haven't used. BTW, the APTA is a great deal right now, so I would have jumped on the new one, as well!
Climb Safe, Bro!

As far as ropes go, I love Yale as my #1, and Kernmaster as my #2, I'll definitely hear some Shite from MonkeyLove, and 1-3 others from previous conversations. That's just the way it is.
