I remember!

Hey, you two hijackers! The entire point of this thread is about where you where when it happened, not unlike the JFK "Where where you?" thing. Get it? Do I need to 'splain it any clearer for you?
Feel free to start a thread of your own, but don't come in here attempting to hijack my thread. Get it? Got it? GOOD!

Well, why aren't I surprised?

Because this is MB.

Now trying to throw your weight around some-one elses forum?

Quick, run back to your herd and write some junk in the Powder Room.

Atleast you can't edit and change other peoples posts here.

And fancy putting a pic like that up, you are sick, go do some charity work for some real hard done bys, it might open that cast iron heart of yours.

Wilt, I dont believe MB has family as such, he only has to look out for himself and knows little in the art of compromise and sharing.

Hey world, anytime you find an American wondering your streets, please feel free to arrest him, treat him in any manner you deem necessary, never allow evidence against him to be seen be his attorney - or a jury, and execute at will for crimes you claim he committed and we have zero anything to say about it.

My country tis to thee.

Safer? You bet, just like "we're winning".

Go to Afghanistan Butch, go for the Gipper.

Hitler let the Red Cross in, Bush won't.

Enough said?

That's the President's desired legislation - as we speak. It's come to a pinnacle, this thing we call "America", what we see it as, who we are, and where we're going.

Or it's back to Dancing With the Stars, our choice.

I'm sorry for the exchange, the feelings expressed Mark. In many way's it's my fault but for five years now I'm also tiring of the politicising of it and more so, for just another war in sync with our last couple, only much more potential for severity that will involve us all.

Someone will ask in a couple years, "Why didn't they try to resolve the root cause?" Many did.

OK then! Back on topic!

I was trimming a Live Oak when I heard the news...

I appreciate that Reed. It is a very, very deep topic. One that will undoubtedly go unresolved in these pages. People are extremely passionate about this issue (and rightfully so), and it will affect many of us for the rest of our lives.

I don't agree with all of the views expressed here (who could?) but it is nice to read such discourse, even if it is such a painful topic. It should be discussed. It deserves to be remembered and talked about. That is how we'll grow.

He he, I wouldn't expect anything more than that from Doc.

It's irony, the people who are scared most of terrorists are of the mindset that creates them.

It's okay though Doc, we're working hard to make sure you're safer.

I was listening to Phil Ochs \"I\'m not marching\"

Oh I marched to the battle of New Orleans
At the end of the early British war
The young land started growing
The young blood started flowing
But I ain't marchin' anymore

For I've killed my share of Indians
In a thousand different fights
I was there at the Little Big Horn
I heard many men lying I saw many more dying
But I ain't marchin' anymore

chorus)
It's always the old to lead us to the war
It's always the young to fall
Now look at all we've won with the saber and the gun
Tell me is it worth it all

For I stole California from the Mexican land
Fought in the bloody Civil War
Yes I even killed my brothers
And so many others But I ain't marchin' anymore

For I marched to the battles of the German trench
In a war that was bound to end all wars
Oh I must have killed a million men
And now they want me back again
But I ain't marchin' anymore

(chorus)

For I flew the final mission in the Japanese sky
Set off the mighty mushroom roar
When I saw the cities burning I knew that I was learning
That I ain't marchin' anymore

Now the labor leader's screamin'
when they close the missile plants,
United Fruit screams at the Cuban shore,
Call it "Peace" or call it "Treason,"
Call it "Love" or call it "Reason,"
But I ain't marchin' any more,
No I ain't marchin' any more

I was doing lineclearance south west in Norway, had to file my chain and heard it in the radio. I knew at once it was a historic moment and was instantly terrified by the brutality of this terrorist act - using innocent civilians in civil aircrafts as bombs. I remember the peiod of time right after - the great sympaty from all of the world embracing America, a feeling of unity against voilence and terrorism.
Now, five years later, I´m just feeling angry with the american government who destroyed that historic chance to really change the world in its eagerness to show strong leadership and flashing military muscles. They turned America from being the land of the free and the leader of the free world to be the leading bulley of the world. What results have been gained from five years of war?
I love the American people, I have a lot of family there, I´ve got you guy´s, but your present government makes it extremely difficult to love America at the present.
