Took this tree down today. Its not the biggest tree in the world but it was stone dead and over a cottage.

Nice work! i hate dead tree also. i lost some sleep last night tying to figure out how i'am going to cut down this huge dead willow today. wish me luck

I hate'em... I just hate'em.

Nice job in a nice location though. Nothing like making a huge mess and having someone else clean it up!

Did a pre-climb inspection on a 26" red maple yesterday. It still has some live foliage and 70% of the roots sounded... not hollow... the rubber mallet just crushed them; it seems to have one solid buttress root, the rest of the crown is thoroughly decayed. Bark is sloughing of the stem and it leans toward a single phase primary.

I getting a bucket, no way I'll climb it... I have a history with red maples.

Just got home from my willow removal. all went well. i climbed the tree cut right sideof three spars down and pulled the other two with the chipper winch.
still alive

A couple of years ago a live red maple with hypoxylon canker failed at the root plate while I was about 40' up... it hurt.
