I’m done

OK, he's just a guy in France (who may or may not be French). Let's not turn this into a xenophobic rant about the French. The world doesn't need any more of that bullshit; we have enough enemies already (including ourselves and our fellow Nazi-Americans). I have too much respect for you all, and myself, to listen to that sort of shit. And none of it helps Chris.

Hey man, how are ya? Been busy myself. Helping a friend of mine, climbing for him. He lost his legs below the knees. He's always been on the cheaper side, but I'm happy to be there for him. Must suck not being able to climb any more. Yesterday was his first day back in action. High spirits and he's got heart. Still wants to climb with his prosthetics. He raked a little, and diced up some Arborvitaes in the back of the dump.

I wouldn’t necessarily say everyone here is just a stranger on the internet, to me at least.

I’m grateful to have been able to develop some connections with some people on here over the years and outside of just interacting across the forums as well.
full heartily agree, nearly everyone here I would consider more than a stranger, and MANY MANY here I have the upmost gratitude and respect for, much more than even the familiar faces in the grocery store.

Honestly man I have never understood what your problem is. In countless threads I have seen you attack other members and act like you are superior and for what reason? You don’t have to agree with everything someone is saying, but if you have nothing positive to say why put other people down or be negative?
just a goon, jumps in every once in a while.. he'll get board and go away, or eventually contribute something beneficial to this forum. when you have the space I'd love to continue my story, but waiting for you to pick up the ball...
What has led you to where you're at now?
I haven't been around that much, my neighbors are treating my and my families well being with economic warfare.

Man that is rough. Good on him to get out.

What’s one thing you’re grateful for, Chris?
I could answer this question saying I'm grateful for my cat, my grandmother, other relationships I have with people, my health, etc. (WHICH I AM GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF THAT) but I am going to respond with something a little more different and personal.

I am grateful for the mindset I have developed when it comes to my ambitions and dreams. I am grateful that I value and understand the importance of having patience when trying to achieve something, and being in the game for the long haul versus chasing overnight success.

Something I've picked up on social media is a lot of people search for ways to become successful, get rich, start a business, change their life, etc. and are looking for some special secret or want a quick fix, but give up or don't even try because they think their dreams are impossible or that results aren't happening fast enough. That kind of mindset only hinders your personal growth.

And I don't mean this to come across as if I think I'm better than others.

You know there is a lot of emphasis on training your physical body, but you also have to train your mindset.

That's great that you're helping him, and inspiring to hear he's still pursuing what he loves

In other news I started playing chess again. I always enjoyed the game since I was a kid but had gotten away from it.

There’s an app called chess.com and you can select different kinds of games and play against friends / other people.

They have games where you can set a timeframe of 24hrs (or longer if you want) which means each player has a time allowance of 24 hrs (or more or less depending on preference) so that way you don’t actually have to set aside a bunch of time to just play a game but go into the app and make a move when it’s convenient.

If anyone plays chess and wants to get in on the action let me know. Maybe we can get a treebuzz tournament going lol.

Im glad you re sparked that passion! I’m embarrassingly terrible at chess. I played the computer and couldn’t win past level 3 (50 levels). I don’t have the patience to analyze all of the potential moves and their consequences. I don’t have an issue doing this in trees but there’s real world ramifications in play there.

That’s OK, I am proving right now that I am embarrassingly terrible at chess as well! He has been beating my tail quite soundly.
