January TCIA feat. The Buzz and Mark Chisholm

Also curious. And what is the benefit for tcia since there's only like 5 of us left here :ROFLMAO:
@Tom Dunlap ... can you tell: did you know this was coming?

Perhaps TCI sees an opportunity to influence the profession??? (That's where I'm curious if they had reached out?) Other platforms (YT, IG, X, FB) are tough to influence positive content because there are so many trash content providers with great followings. (also, plenty of good ones...but way too much trash). I don't claim to know a lot of other forums, but the ones I'm familiar with have a lower arborist:not-arborist ratio.

What's the angle with the precious old growth tree climb on the cover photo re normal tree industry care provision? nice photo regardless, though related threads may have some to and fro

Is there a related article in the issue?

This is just a guess... TCI is losing industry clout. They've been left behind by the popularity social media. Their products are lacking. They couldn't make the jump to video. And they are so out of touch and delussional as to think that TB is going to be their foothold into social media...

Not sure what Mark can do to help them, but he's as good an ambassador as they will ever find.. (see that Mark... a little bit of brown-nosing for you).... haha

I wrote and submitted an article about the influence of YouTube videos on tree work to them maybe 8-10 years ago... they wouldn't touch it...

TCI mag is riding our coat tails... almost certainly unsing AI to take an old thread and write it up like that... NOt sure if I should be flattered or sue for copyright infringement...

can anyone find the thread or is it more than one thread?

and AI is going to make mistakes... though a person probably would too.

I thought the same thing. I just hope that they sell the data to the nyt to make an AI article based on fuckface von clownstick.

Double the ads and sell the content to tcia... is this the dying days of treebuzz.com?
I mean, the site doesn't stay operational for free, even if Tom and friends aren't making any money. If I could offer to host it on a private server for free, I would, but I don't have the infrastructure for that yet. Until that day comes, or someone else wants to step up for the cause, I have resigned myself to accept the ads as the price of admission.

Maybe we could get an ad free version for folks that wanna pay for a subscription? I hate that model, but this is obviously just the result of the capitalist model, which most folks around here still think is the best way to continue forward with.

Look at Reddit. I left Reddit the day they went public, and you can go on there and see I haven't posted since. Lots of people left, but most either stayed or went back.
