Have had bad allergies since I was a kid, went to the doctor/hospital etc. all to little avail and only to be at the effect of allergies. Doctor told me I would poss. grow out of them at 12 years of age. I thought, that makes no sense-if I am allergic to x why would it change?
Read a book, N.A.E.T., by doctor Numbudripod (also N.A.E.T.[Numbudripods Allergy Elimination Technique] website and her open letter of explanation of how it works). She uses the terms, more reactive, and less reactive not, “allergic”. In the book it gives the example of a woman answering the door with a glass of Orange Juice in her hand. After being told her husband just died out on the Interstate she dropped the glass of juice and went through all of the appropriate freak out. Next time she goes to drink Orange Juice she breaks out in hives and her throat swells. Only after she heard about N.A.E.T. and was “cleared” for Orange Juice was she able to drink it again.
I found a Chiropractor in my area who was a N A E T practicioner and was “cleared” for some basic items I was tested to be reactive to, as well as Oak tree pollen which was then making me feel sick when I would work Oak trees. Also cleared from lifelong reactivity to Poison Oak, Mold and some other long forgotten things. After staying away from Oaks for one day to allow the treatment to ‘set’, I was able to work them with zero ill effects. My parents used to fear for my life if I walked through Poison Oak (or got a Bee sting-thats one I forgot) now I work with Poison Oak when required and only have to deal with prevention of normal skin irritation, and when I get stung the pain of the sting annoys me and a little after swelling, but no racing to a hospital.
Now I have a say in the matter. I can go “allergic” to something by poor diet, strong negative association and perhaps other things I am not thinking of now ,but if I do I can do somtheing about it. I prefer this.
