How do you Promote Women in this Field?

omg an isa employee on the buzz--watch out, don't be controversial or the spit will hit the fan!

Seriously, hope you are having fun up there!

Bear in mind, TCI mag's "From the Field" is open for submittals, as is Detective Dendro, for those who feel like writing beyond this forum. Dendro has pc for some time; 100% safe there.

Well take downs are not the only part of tree care and climbing. I for one - would never take a chair saw into a tree, I like hand saw pruning.

I take my Granddaughter climbing when ever I can - to PROMOTE women in tree care. I see the local Rec trainers doing a lot to promote climbing, starting at the Rec side.

What schools - training workshops - work programs are available? (I've heard of only a few - still to new)

the muscle magazines are only (my opinion) in the fact that you can build up a body doing this - which muscle group do you use more? (I've been asked that by a Magazine writer)

I would love to see the High School Guidance department, on career day - to invite a tree care person.

jz - longing for the outdoors

[/ QUOTE ]This happens most often when the professional invites herself! High schoolers can be a tough audience, but they can also be very enthusiastic!

re hiring women, yes, ground positions and climbing and phc, the market is opening wider.

THANKS - for that -

thanks also for the spelling reminder - PROOF read - sure

Sure you can HIRE a woman, BUT how do you get the word out there that this is a JOB for her? that was why i suggested the visits to schools. It may be to promote the field of arborculture to all and talk more to the girls.

How about tree care class and not home ecs.

jz - my opinion today
