In what situation do yo find it more useful and efficient?
 
Hey BlackOak, all is good our climbing styles must be different as I climb a lot of huge canopied trees, I just recrotch my climb line as I move around seldom need more than my 12'er ( I will choke it if I need the full 12' ). Just have a dislike for all that rope hanging around. But all's good bro whatever works for you is power to ya. No right or wrong with gear choices just preferences, as long as our gear is safe to climb on.

No problem, I agree, Im always trying new stuff.
 
i lied i read the post above usefull lanyards are great but bringing a camera with you to take pictures of yourself ? if i didnt shoot myself in the head for wasting time , my boss would! get a grip .. unless that lanyard saves so much time you are.............,, i dont know..
 
CMTB, where does it say the dude is working, could be just pissing around in a tree. Whatever, it really doesn't matter does it, he is just showing how he uses his long lanyard, get a grip.
 
your right . ive just been really frustrated latley the guy my boss gave to train recently clearly has been misdignoisted, , he is very downsy .. i wish i had time to take pictures of myself ,, but am constantly picking up slack,, sweet lanyard dude!////
 
thanks for posting pictures of your lanyard setup. thats what I come on to treebuzz for. CMTB, what do you come on to this forum for? I would really like to see some pics of your set up at some point.
 
my set up? take a 75 foot bucket.. put in a two foot bag> BUCKET IN A BAG< i guess its a bad habbit, to learn/ to ask/ but for the most part to heckel. thats part of being a tree climber ,, isnt it, bang out some jobs . drink some beers and talk ,, my generation anyways ,, eating humus and doing yoga before work is laughable,, o paul where are you,, im laughing so hard right now,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,THATS why its fun!!!! wait,, did you hear that?

That's how you talk about your co-workers you must be a blast to work with. Insecurity: feeling of general unease or nervousness that may be triggered by perceiving of oneself to be vulnerable in some way> just something for you to think about CMTB.

honestly i forget about the big picture, im not an axe man by any means,"HISTORY CHANNEL" - i dont know who has TV's or not? but an urban forester maybe? working on the north shore,, north of boston .. lots of hacks,, lots of compention, there was lots of money to be made but the economey is dogshit and the industry is saturated, right now, everyone has a bucket and a crane, /logloader, flashy trucks,, i forget the rest of the country is a little slower,, and when someone hears my slippery tounge they get get hot and bothered, unless there from the north shore then its game on!

Whatever, a climb off what are we in kindergarten? Just come and let off some steam seems you have a lot these days. I am going to relax and have some fun. A holiday away from work, I see other dudes from the buzz climb and they see me climb and we talk shop and life. That is the spirit dude, I ain't no kid on the playground.
 
So come down, will PM ya with the dates. Come relieve some of that built up stress. Get out and smell the fresh air live a little.

More useful and efficient... Ted I believe your talking about a long lanyard... maybe 20ft and up. I have found a long flipline useful in many of the Heritage Blue Oaks down in the valley. Some of those oaks can spread out twice as wide as are tall, having tons of space between low lateral branches. Every now and then it would come in sooooo handy when going way out on the tips and needing that bit of side tension on the harness to keep proper balance.

I sure do miss my ol' beeline lanyard. I would always daisy chain the excess and it pretty well kept out of my way... or bag it as Scott mentioned. Ha... just a thought... I would also use it as a climb line on some of the dumb little trees, now I try and stay away from those.
