Somewhere between Impressionism and Homer Simpson, drunk, with crayons, lies the uniquely creepy nature of your avatars. I'm not sure "better" is relevant to a discussion of them. Perhaps equally disturbing from a slightly shifted perspective might be more accurate. Still, change is good. Nice that you popped in, though, to brighten up the dull corners a bit.
