correct me if I am wrong, which I may be, bt Obama won by 8% right? not exactly a landslide. not sure how many times you need to hear it, but I am not a republican, nor do I care for Bush. there are many other pol parties than dems and repubs.



I think that capitalism is great! they should pay who they want what they see fit. and yes, again as I said above, take ALL the welfare away. this includes huge corporations, its sickening these idiots got any of my money. and its even more sickening that Pelosi and Hussein gave them 350B more yesterday....and they want to give out another 800B the day he takes office.

lets get rid of all the overrun government programs, welfare (for everyone!), and get a flat tax bracket. the top 10% of earners pay 80+% of the taxes in this country, that's unfair to me! while 30%+ don't pay ANY taxes!!

If you were not intending to denigrate the man but were using his name respectfully, I would agree that using any ones given name is fine. Obama is not Muslim. You've made that claim a few times. Do you have any evidence? Can you point me to an article or something? As far as all Muslims wanting to kill you. Get over it its not true. Granted, there are Islamic organizations that resort to terrorist tactics. They are a small fraction of the whole religion. There are Christians and Jews who are just as intolerant. Think about all of those shootings and bombings at clinics during the 90's. Christians committing acts of domestic terrorism, what about that.
 
Governments or corporations? Either will screw you over.History has led us to where we are because of what has happened in the past. So pay them whatever they want? That led to the formation of guilds and unions. Oh and revolts as well against the hording of power and wealth at the expense of the majority.

Whether we like it or not, societies are judged not on how they treat their wealthiest but on the least fortunate. By that I mean those who through one thing or another are lacking the capabilities to rise higher in society. That is the real world not some sort of meritocracy that says anyone can become president. That is patently false. Figure a way for those less fortunate in ability, physically or mentally, to survive then you've got the answer.

What we see is a continuance of the great social experiment that is the U.S. and any other democratic countries. Not all social programs are virtuous nor all bad. As with providing incentives to corporations, they are necessary in an unequal global economy.

I agree that not all muslims are terrorists, but lately all terroist acts against us are by muslims.

I didn't, and wouldnt , call the man a "N", or any other racial term. calling him Hussein is the same as the left wing media calling the sitting ELECTED leader of our country Dub-ya, Dumby, Dumbya, ears, stupid, etc etc. Because Hussein is black I am supposed to feel bad and treat him special and different? isn't that what black americans have been fighting for for years....equality? treat them equal then! if Mr Bush is Dubya, Mr Obama will be known as Hussein!

and while we are on the subject of race, how many people living in USA can truly call themselves African Americans? How many were truly born there and came here? I see a lot of mexican/guatemalan/canadian/etc etc americans. in Boston we have TONS of Irish Americans. the term xxxxx(add your choice) american is overused and abused IMO

no I read the bible, because I like to be educated. I was baptiswed, against my wil at a oung age. I do not carry forth any religious set of beliefs. I do want to believe in a higher power, and it would be great to live that way. but I am a show me kind of guy.

Aethiests believe in not believing! I just don't believe......fully! lol

Too many out there hold forth their religion as the one and only and all others be damned (literally). It becomes justification for too many injustices and worse.

As for the hyphenated American, it does become tired. An attempt to recognize one's ethnic origins. That's fine but it too often becomes a way to differentiate and distance oneself from all the rest.

I'm Canadian period. I live in the U.S. and maybe one day I'll become a dual citizen and have the right to vote but for now I'll sit back and enjoy the debate.

Absolutely false!!atheist tyrants like Mao and Stalin and Pol Pot killed tens of millions within the space of a few decades.And let us not forget hitler.if we hold religious regimes responsible for the crimes done in God's name, we should hold atheist regimes responsible for the crimes done in the name of creating an atheist utopia. Let's not blame religion not only for its own offenses but also for the offenses done by atheists on behalf of an atheist ideology.

I have really been trying to stay away from such posts because i dont want to have long drawn out talks w people about things we will never agree on!BUT i must make one correction. The thought that more people die in the name of religion is one of THE most common misconceptions!!
I hate to say it but it is just not factually true!!!!
