im proud of you!! finally admitting your a socialist. You will do well under Obama and Clintons America. take a long hard look at Canada, a failed (believe it or not) marxist government. we will now see what a true marxist government is like, with Karl's top student at the healm and her puppet Hussein sitting along side of her.

time will tell........

So giving away a trillion, to his failed buddies, on his watch, of our money is your idea of good government?

The worst Prez in history, and whatever replaces him is his and his supporter's own fault.

Live with it.

no

I have to live with it, but not like it. I hate government, and taxes.

screw the people wgo signed their names 40+ times and then say they didn't know what the in.terest rate was, or payment. and I wouldn't give the mortgage co. or the useless unions a cent of my money!

its not bad enough dumb dumb gave away a trillion, Hussein wants to do it BEFORE he even takes office! its not needed and didn't work the first time. the market was down almost 300 points yesterday,

I got to hand it to you, you've done your homework. Blanket statements about whole countries are almost always true.

I think I heard Ann Coulter make the same argument about Canada. She's a brilliant mind.

Hey BB, Where do you get your news from? I'm seriously curious. I think calling President-elect Obama "Hussein" comes off as racist. I seriously doubt you are, but it comes off that way.

Hello all. Interesting thread. banjo, "Hussein" is Barack Obama's middle name.

I know, but using that name in a pejorative way seems wrong to me. It's also an insult to the culture which that name comes from.

Um, failed marxist government???? There was and is no such desire in Canada to create a classless society. I lived and worked in the largest wealthiest city in Canada and there are definitely classes. As arborists we work primarily for the upper middle and upper classes. As for the bio's of most Canadian politicians, you'll find they come from those same backgrounds. They are not working class stiffs who have risen up to realize Karl's utopian state.

You blame the guy for taking the mortgage but not the agent who sought him out and ushered him through the process with nothing more than profit in mind. Do you really think they didn't expect the bottom to fall out? Sure they did, in fact they knew it would as it inevitably does. But seeing the opportunity to make a buck and move on they seized the day with both hands and ran with it, jumping off at the last possible moment with a stash of cash that will insulate them from the crash.

Whether you like it or not, there will always be a bell curve of abilities that make up our civilization. Those with the greater abilities will be compensated at a higher level than those with lesser talents.

The issue really is one of a living wage. How is it that we can condone a company policy that pays it top talent upwards of 850 times more than the front line workers? More importantly those companies rely on taxpayer dollars to make up the difference between earnings and basic expenditures.

Yes, there are those that can rise up but there are many that can't what do you propose we do with them?

calling someone by their birth given name is racist? piss off! u serious with that statement? that's the trouble with you libs, everything is offensive. he's a liberal muslim and has the birth name to prove it.

yes I did blanket the WRONG statement, I meant to put socialist government. I know that's not what they call themselves, but 60% taxes is socialist to me. I find it unfair the government demands 35% of my paycheck every week!

ann coulter is hot, but she can be a knucklehead too. shes definitely looney!

I don't blame him for taking the mortgage, but don't tell me he didn't know what he was signing. there are lawyers, real estate agents, mortgage brokers etc in that room. you sign your name and initials 40+ times saying you understand what the payment, interest rate, and penalties are. you are also asked a bunch of times if you have questions and understand what your signing. anyone who owns a home went through this. so explain to me how they were duped?

I propose a broad 5% tax on everything that is currently taxed. and I also propose taqxing welfare recipients who don't pay taxes. a flat 10% tax on state and federal income tax as well none of this BS of you make more than me so we take more. cut all the fat in government as well. no more welfare for anyone who wants it.

Thomas Jefferson and his partners would be rolling in their graves if they saw this shite!

Not that he didn't know but isn't it the mortgage lenders job to ensure the mortgagor is qualified? That is the real problem. I'm not saying they were duped but they asked and the lender said yes, sure no problem! along with the agent, lawyer and every other professional in the room who all have a fudiciary duty to someone. Instead they're all making some serious coin while saying hey the system says it's ok to lend to this guy. Most enter into the mortgage agreement with at least the understanding of the basics and feel they can pay it. They were paying rent so why not the mortgage and all the gatekeepers said yes. They weren't duped we have been. Thus the bailout of the lenders not the mortgagors. Those poor bast$%ds just get foreclosed on. Now someone else picks up the house cheap and makes money off that.

Taxing those that can't afford the basics will only create more government jobs for tax collectors. How about some basic legislation that states it is illegal to pay less than a living wage and create some limits on executive compensation packages. Apply that across the board.

As for no more welfare, does that include all the corporate welfare as well? Should tax incentives to corporations to relocate be quashed?

Jefferson and co. were radical social experimenters of the day. Addressing the inequities of their time with radical thought. They made a living document that wasn't meant to be frozen in time but that was to develop and adapt to the times as they changed to best serve the needs of the people. All the people not just the elite few.

great post!

end welfare for everyone!! except the truly needy.

entry level jobs, low paying, qre just that. work hard, educate yourslf in your field, and you will progress. again if the companies weren't taxed so heavily maybe they could pay better wages, right? and no tax breaks for the big co.'s, why are they special? they should however have a flat tax rate, like the rest of america should. this floating tax scale is not good for anyone but the people who make 20k or less.

yes Jefferson and the like were radicals. but had strong beliefs of freedom, equality, small government, qnd a strong military. the last liberal prez closed 13 bases!

The last conservative prez bankrupted America, ignored Al Qaeda threat levels, flew-off the Bin Laden family, botched Katrina response, trashed the Constitution, let North Korea built nukes, broke international laws, needlessly sent 4,300 G.I.'s to death with the wrong war, and is losing it as well. Then he takes 800billion of our money and gives it to his rich loser friends who can't even run a business unless it's taxpayer financed.

Your views were thankfully voted out by a huge majority of Americans, they realize the mess and the work it's going to take to try and fix it. Thank you much.

Low paying is one thing below subsistence is another. Taxation of corporations caused the problem? How about comp packages for the top 5 execs for 5 yrs totaling $219,684,584. Let see, even at the top tax rate the pay is only utterly absurd. This in a company that claims it can't pay it's frontline workers sufficient wages. Instead the company relies on government medicaid and other subisidies to offset their employees incomes. That in turn allows them to declare higher profits which boosts stock value and allows these execs to achieve their bonuses. That is not a corporate tax issue at all.

And there are those that can and will do just as you say but then there are those that do not have that ability. Such is the bell curve. There will always be those at the bottom who provide the raw manpower for those few who reap the benefits most. It's not about redistributing wealth but structuring it so that companies that generate huge profits are self-sufficient in the whole sense. First paying all employees enough that they can afford to go to work in the first place and take care of themselves from the wages they've earned.
