So how does the trolley stay there? Did he go vertical from the ground or did he ride the over to his drop point? Either way refer to 1st question. Thanks.
 
You can use a prussic attached to the highline and clip that into the trolley/ pulley with a carabiner or use a midline attachment knot like an alpine butterfly. Then you change your TIP position by pulling the highline from side to side.

I let the trolley float. It was the easiest way to set it up. I was able to position the TIP and shift it to the final position as I spiked up the leaning trunk. Once it was loaded there was no movement from side to side. Unlike a previous situation where I couldn't put any weight on the tree, this one I could.
 
I was able to let the crown fly and rigged the trunk off the tree it was resting in. Once it was reduced to the point of contact it was cut at the base and sectioned down.
