Grapple Chip Truck

I worked for a company who had a southco body on a sterling that worked really well. It was a little bit of a pain sometimes getting the top on and off. This was more of a problem after some rookies did some bending and tweaking of the lid.

Yeah, I went and visited his facility in VA and almost bought a truck from him...I wish that I had ended up buying from him....he's a really nice guy and I think you could get a nice truck from him. I will say that his default body is pretty light duty, so bear that in mind...He can do anything you want as far as bodies, but if you're looking at something he's already built for sale than the body is going to be better for chips than for heavy log hauling use...OK for little stuff, of course. I would say that if you're looking for a grapple/chip combo truck then he's a good guy for that project, but like anything customm like that you better do a lot of drawings and sketches and map out what you want, and then go to his facility and talk with him and make sure he builds it just right for you. Otherwise you could be dissapointed.

i orderded a 70 foot knuckleboom off him in june its supposed to be done here in sept if you wanna come check it out im right outside of pittsburgh PA. Its got a log body with removable roof and all the good stuff such as radio remote control, grapple, hydralic winch and fiberglass bucket for it.
