Oil subsidy = corporate welfare. Every govt. is guilty of this form of welfare. Usually it is justified by the notion that these corps will provide jobs. That's until some other govt offers them a better deal to move. This of course applies mostly to public co.'s who have shareholders to answer to. This will never change until the law is clear that companies must act in the best interests of STAKEHOLDERS vs. the single interest shareholders.


Companies will only do what the are legally bound to do and even then only those laws that are diligently policed.

But I in no way disagree.

Here in Canada our government is more than in bed with O&G. They have a dirty and improper relationship and the gov't must have promised a great deal to O&G in the heat of passion while having it's Tory blue dick sucked.

This gov't is trying to remove all obstacles to rampant rape of the environment. All those nuisance people who are knocking at the door, not paying any attention to the tie on the knob. Respected environmental groups, watchdog groups, scientific organizations and concerned citizens who used to get a say in the environmental assessment process will be denied a say. Not only that, but they could be declared terrorists.

It seems we must get our resources out of the ground as fast as possible right now. At any cost. Well, I'm sure cost is not what they are focused on. Just profits.

Our gov't is corrupt. Our land is being raped and we just have to watch this enviro-porn while corporations and the predatory top tier management gets richer.

But Obama is not very different than Bush was, is far better spoken, and believes in renewable energy at least to a better degree than Cheney/Halliburton ever did.

It's more his continuing bush like tendencies of increased military operations in a growing number of countries in a decidedly imperialistic attempt to conduct foreign diplomacy at the barrel of a gun that disturbs me.

I'm a 99 percenter, the exact opposite of a tea partier. Today's notions and principles of conservatism are foreign to me. They have perverted any once admirable aspects of conservatism at its best after WW2, into something that we fought that war to avoid. Namely corrupt fascist rule by tyrants.

Are we a democratic republic nation, or an imperialist conqueror seeking world rule through force of arms?

We have almost achieved the exact opposite what was declared by our own declaration of independence. It seems as long as our constitution is locked up safe and sound in a bomb proof vault somewhere, our elected and sworn representatives have somehow upheld their sworn duties to protect and defend it while their constituent's constitutional rights can magically just disappear depending on what their leaders accuse them of in their own homes?

Does a dissident American citizen have any rights if his govt accuses them of wrong thinking?

If you don't believe their TV propaganda? Are you too a dissident nonbeliever who doesn't believe in fighting unending wars as the price of American citizenship in the 21st century?

Will the next president regardless of party also maintain the course set by Bush/Cheney?

How does America get off this course set by Cheney and Wolfowitz, president Obama?

obama has spent more then bushes 2 terms put together . i do agree bush was no good to . i believe he was a fiscal socialist .republican , dems one and the same . obama is a radical . how about reverend right or should i say wrong ?that was a man he grew up with and that guy is a pure radical full of hate . everyone that surrounds obama seems to be a radical . we are in big trouble . it is ok to spend money if you are going to get a return . we all know that , it is part of business . we are not getting any return with this administrations spending . it is out of control . i really do not have all the answers to solve our complex problems . but we need to get the corruption out somehow . do we need a third party , or will they just do the samething ? how can we make there decisions affect them and there bank accounts ? boycott GE this company is owned by george soros . he is in with obama . this company got a goverment handout and has not payed any business taxes at all . george soros is in with there green energy . they stand to make billions . they want you to believe that global warming exists so they can get you to pay a carbon tax . how does a tax help global warming ? it doesnt but it helps there agenda and there pockets . so they can pursue one world order .

It could be argued that bush and obama are two heads of the same coin.

If obama or clinton were true democrats they wouldn't have sold American labor unions downstream to China and other despotic low wage no human rights hellholes.

Busting American labor unions has been a far right wet dream of corporations for over 100 years. Clinton and Obama obliged them in their far right aspirations.

Both parties are corrupt period.

But we have no more democrats protecting American laborers, just neocon tea party appeasers parading as democrats.

Actually read the founders OWN works ,ideas etc...as well as John locke...Declaration of independence, the federalist papers....use them as a benchmark to see from where we have come . and ask are you happy here now

Here we are in a couple live shooting wars and you can't deal with paying far less than your father paid in 1960?

Can you list the number of times in our entire history when taxes were cut during a hot shooting war prior to Bush and Obama doing so?

Why can't the generation that starts wars of choice on credit pay for it?

The conservatives I know pay their own bar tabs as a matter of principle. Not drunk barflies pawning their debts off their own children and grandchildren.

Tea partiers can't toe their own parents line of patriotism and sacrifice for their country monetarily speaking.

A little reading about the Tea Party and the Koch brothers (pronounced "coke"). There is a lot of evidence to suggest that the Koch brothers who run the largest privately held energy company in the country had an awful lot to do with forming the Tea Party. Read some of these then check Koch industries web site, to me it looks a lot like these Tea Party conservatives have a vested interest in very high energy prices.

I'll tell ya. narrow down any and all laws and policy to the constitution. I'm talking completely start over. then hang everyone who has anything to do with the policy we have now. then put them all on display and let the new politicians be paraded by them during their commencement to learn from the line up change. then go back to work.
