Geezers 2009

Hey JZ,

I'd hate to compete against you for Last Place

[/ QUOTE ]

I would be very happy to have you TRY and take that from me. I will fight hard to retain it. OH WAIT, YA - you can have it. I have been practicing and THIS GAL IS READY, (well almost).

OK, after reading this I am starting to become compelled to travel to the event....

At what point does one qualify for "Geezer?"

Also, If I do happen to make it it will be no competition!

What I mean is I'll be no competition, I think I'll have all I can do to get off the ground without blowing an artery, poppin an anurism or stopping my heart.

Then again, I'd certainly be high entertainment value or comic relief!

Hell, it can't be any harder than the CTW practical can it?

Anyhow, Details Please! Dates, times locations, required equipment, entrance fees...possible accomodations

Chip! Fill me in on this one big guy!

Rick you have to make it.
Rules
Over 40 then we have age brackets.
You are allowed at set up and, it would help with the young ones.
No entrance fee, but I would take a donation for stuff 100 dollars gets you on the shirt and banner.
Equipment is climbing gear, what you can't get here or need and don't have post it and we will do our best to make sure it's here.
Place to stay, we are working on a camp ground closer to site, but don't know about that yet. My house and yard is always open to all. Also hotels on the west side of Orlando and not far from all the attraction's
OK comp rules:

WC and AR are set at 7 min.
BS is at about 30 feet in a nice big huge tree.

Gonna put a bug in the ear of my buddy in Woodstock, NY!

It looks like I'm a gonna try to go to Port Charlotte for the week preceeding and then head up to set up and compete.

Grace, technique and competence have never been used to describe my climbing.

I've been told I look like snail having train wreck when I climb. Anyhow....

I'll have a final answer Merideth in a few weeks!

but don't even think about last place, I've got it sewed up... I had it locked in last year but I think JZ cheated.

YA see - i have been thinking - i don't need to stinking practice on FOOTLOCK - or belay speed - the numbers get dropped anyway. SO i am going to practice the throw line and dumping the dummy out of the tree.

HA HA - see if you can catch me as a SWING thought the air on work climb.

(screaming what am i doing up here)

but what happens at the geezers (stays) at the geezers.

I agree Jersey, this thread has hit a slump.

totally in need of a bump.

I am specifically referring to definition #s 1,3,4,5, and to a lesser extent, 7..... and to an ever lesser degree, #21.

Been working out of town, but I am back.
This year we will have coffee and a light breakfast, provided by a new restaurant across the street. So thank you to them.
Also thanks to JZ for keeping this going.

Scotty,
I just want to make sure you know that I'm big time now and will need to be a Head Judge at the Geezers 2009. My resume is quite extensive, most notable being the Chair of the NC TCC (Charlotte), Head Timing Judge in Aerial Rescue at the 2008 ITCC, and of course Belay Tech at the Geezers 2008. The list is pretty long, so I'll stop there. But should you require a full resume, please let me know ASAP and I'll get it to you. It's not liking I'm asking to be a "Special Advisor" or anything. Anyway, hope to hear from you soon.

Yours Truly,

Morice

Morice,
Yes please send that full resume ASAP.
I have talked with the committee and know one seems to remember anything more than you having to change your sock draw many, many times in the past and not making the trip. Maybe we are thinking of someone else, but.........
We still would LOVE to have you here and whats wrong with you having a belay tech??????????? <font color="red">

GET READY you all

I just came back from THREE days of climbing with some really great climbers, so this gal is getting ready for the competition.

Just yesterday, I did three climbs and got OUT on the limbs, that poor tree was smothering in dead grape vine and the this climber FREEDED the TREE. so I am getting my practice in on that Limb Toss.

Belay speed, I've got the moves just about down,

Blinky - old man - I am going to give you a run for the points

JZ - getting ready
