gear storage

That was a great review Steve, now I want one of them too. Maybe not the baby bump though, tell us what you really think about it. Lol

yeah that was really helpful, Steve...thanks.

I think I'll be getting both....eventually. It takes courage to keep making treestuff orders : )

I didn't read this whole thread so i don't know if this was mentioned. When I got into this trade over 12yrs ago, I stopped at my local army navy store. Got to top handle duffle bags with stiff flat bottoms. In one I keep my saddle, hand saw, 150' climbing rope and another about 75' that I use for smaller trees, spikes and other odds-n-ends. Has a small outside pocket as well. The other is stuffed with various slings, chokers, and some short ropes. I use the short ropes for tying back bushes and pesky gates out of harms way. I also grabbed a Swiss army back pack I keep a 3-strand 1/2" rope in. Has to be somewhere around 350' long. The Swiss bag is made of a "leather like" material but requires no care like a leather bag would. All have held up extremely well, and cost peanuts lol. One more thing, I cut some 3" lengths of some old HD garden hose to keep my gaffs from protruding out the bag and/or sticking someone.

I really want a new gear bag but find it so hard to justify the $ when the bag I have now 'works'... I'll probably justify it sooner or late as "it's for work, it makes money, right?"
I find it a lot easier to justify a new gear bag by buying enough new gear that you simply can't fit it all in your current bag. Then you HAVE to buy a new bag.

I've been thinking about using my old hockey bag, I could fill that! so no matter what bag I buy it will be full from the get go. STOP MAKING ME THINK ABOUT BUYING STUFF!!! lol, my fiancé would literally leave me right now if I put in another treestuff order.

There you go, save yourself lots of money and put in that TreeStuff order now.

That raises an idea Richard, TreeStuff should look into stocking stuffers that would asuage the ladies a bit. That way we wouldn't feel guilty not getting something for them as well.

I posted this as an independent thread, but I've been using a husky gear box from Home Depot. Very durable, $69, on wheels, and you can get a lower profile one for $49.

It is easy to get into backyards and doubles as a sharpening / tuning station and lunch bench

guys i gotta take a pic of my bag one of these days. $85 tactical bag from the local army navy store. main big pocket holds my two climbing lines (150' and 10ish'), all my biners, F8s, pulleys and hitch cords in the second large pocket, which is divided inside into small pouches to separate everything, all my ascenders in another pocket, my friction saver in its own spot, another separate pocket for my big saw lanyard, and a laptop pocket that goes again your back which i put my cube it, which you could probably fit two in. there is also another pocket which i keep my gloves and a compression sleeve in (helps my chronic elbow pain), and all the loops in the world to clip more stuff to.

I've also been know to carry 7 handles of cheap alcohol, or a 30 pack and 2 handles, or two 12 packs of beer bottles.

and a dead hooker.

I've said too much. really great bag tho, and going on 8 years of abuse.

I'm always looking for good totes.

Saw these today on sale at Sportsman Warehouse - made by Plano - good size, weather resistant, decent latches, stackable, with tie down hooks.
