Fun Day!

Helped out with my first kids climb today and had a blast. It was part of a volunteer planting and historic tree bike ride in Austin. What amazed me the most is that the younger kids, 5-7 years old did better than most of the older kids and even some adults. I attribute it to the no fear factor. The younger kids are just so much more willing to try new things because they haven't made the associations with cause and effect. One 5 year old climbed the rope like he had been doing it for years. I love it!!!!!!!!!! Facilitating this kind of event is just as fun as climbing. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has never been involved with this kind of thing.

Kids climbs are the best!

Getting the young ones interested in safely ascending trees can only benefit our industry.



At the Geezers this year I have the honor of helping out with the kids climb. It's partly because over the last two years all I have done is make fun of the old folks.
