Access to, but not final authority, at least not legally. If elon does decide to cancel social security, it still requires more than his word to make it happen legally. If congress lets it happen, that makes all of them complicit, but this one man does not have god like power to dictate all of these things. I am worried about what chaos they may create, they don't have the legal authority to do all they have threatened. If they succeed, it will be due to the complicit actions and decisions of many other officials, some elected, and some appointed.

The legal authority is a thin veil as enforcement is elective.
Trump has immunity and the ability to grant pardons. Theoretically the DOJ is the enforcement body, which is controlled by….
Sure it sounds all conspiracy theory and at this point no one really knows.

Again, the complicitness of other elected officials in congress and the senate is required, and will be the reason why they are allowed to act with impunity. The issue I take is with the implication that it is all because of elon. lots of people got together to make this shitstorm, and the message would hit harder if this bigger issue was at the heart of the argument, rather than presenting a single boogeyman. you could get rid of elon and trump, and I think that we would likely still be in a nearly identical situation. The message in that Lincoln Project piece has merit, but is too narrow in scope.

I have little faith in people’s complacency and complicity. I do really hope I’m wrong

I also agree somewhat that Trump/Musk are just meat puppets. However both have their agendas, and when they clash it will be one hellacious power struggle.
 
The weather has been consistently colder here than we've seen in a long time. They say the whole US, has had the the most consistent cold weather, on record.
I wonder if the ones manipulating the weather, using HAARP, DEW Line and other means, have run for the hills, since Trump got in office.

Consistent cold keeps fungal dominance at bay. Florida/California were once the largest orange producers on the planet, surpassing all other sources, combined.
I know many dismiss the possibility human weather control, why are there over 1,300 weather control patents.

It's super easy to manipulate the weather. We have known how to do it for centuries. 95% of the atmosphere is within 6 miles of the surface which is the equivalent of a layer of saran wrap on a basketball. Take stored carbon from below the surface and pump it into the atmosphere is a simple way to change the weather with basic atmospheric physics. You could not design an easier way to alter it.
While florida freezes, the arctic is yet again experiencing one of the warmest years ever, which follows every prediction of what happens with an altered atmosphere.
