The Colorado Supreme Court, and really all courts, are SUPPOSED to be non partisan. You're conflating their appointments by Democratic Governors with them sharing ideology with those who appoint them. Maybe some Governors choose people they think will be fair and actually be non partisan? Colorado, like California, is a lot more purple than red or blue.Order was stayed by the same court that issued it. Nothing changes until Jan 4.
Colorado Supreme Court is comprised of 7 Dems and the vote was still 4-3. Make of that what you will.
Fascinating that in order to “save our democracy” one side refuses to simply let us vote. Ah yes, that purest and most elusive form of democracy: distant unelected lawyers get to decide which candidates are suitable to appear on the peasants’ ballots.
This should end well.
Could it be that any system of government will begin to fray at the edges and eventually fall apart completely as the size of the body of the governed grows?
