The Colorado Supreme Court, and really all courts, are SUPPOSED to be non partisan. You're conflating their appointments by Democratic Governors with them sharing ideology with those who appoint them. Maybe some Governors choose people they think will be fair and actually be non partisan? Colorado, like California, is a lot more purple than red or blue.

Could it be that any system of government will begin to fray at the edges and eventually fall apart completely as the size of the body of the governed grows?

we thinking about the same democratic party? the ones who were so arrogant and self-assured they boosted trump in the 2016 gop primary by treating him as the presumed nominee in campaign messaging, thinking he would mean an easy dem win? who neglected to campaign in wisconsin in 2016 because they had such a divisive candidate and no platform to speak of that poll numbers dropped after clinton visted places, so they just decided not to go anymore rather than change their platform or messaging? the party whose deeply unpopular foreign policy right now will maybe throw swing states and the entire 2024 election for them and whose only response to their concerned would-be base of voters is to condescend, scold, and double down? the party whose own senators can't be trusted to side with them on legislation? the party who squirms and weasels and kowtows to procedure over effect? this is the party youre worried about?

this may be small comfort coming from a non-american but i dont think you ever have to worry about the democratic party suddenly deciding power is more important than procedure. theres way more money to be made at all levels kowtowing to procedure, and nothing better for fundraising than opposing donald trump. marketing firms, think tanks, consultants, lobbyists. the modern democratic party is more of a career track for middlemen than a party interested in wielding power. they have no long term goal, their watchword is the status quo. five terms of democratic presidents didnt even seek to enshrine roe v wade in law, they just left it alone while the religious right mounted a fifty year long campaign to appoint enough judges throughout the judicial branch to reverse it, and succeeded! they couldnt even get universal healthcare through with a supermajority because theyre totally captured by lobbyists! and youre worried about them cancelling elections? i have to be honest, im not seeing the sleeping dragon here. i think the worst you personally have to worry about democrats is getting on their mailing list when they beg for money, because theyd rather lose and keep getting paid
 
its funny looking back on footage of the trump campaign on election night 2016, everyone is cheering and trump is sitting there stunned. even he didnt believe the democrats could throw an election so hard he could win.

poor donald trump. tricked by the endless 2008 campaign into treating the presidential election like any other reality show and only after doing all the episodes (pre-primary hype, primaries, super tuesday, convention, campaign, debates, election day) dominating the challenges every week and finally winning the big vote from the electoral college, at the end of the season, did he find out he was stuck doing a job he didnt want for FOUR ENTIRE YEARS. on other reality shows you just have to marry someone or get a bunch of money or something! he would have been so much happier complaining about criminal president hillary clinton on twitter all that time

Exactly. The Republicans did this all to themselves. They have no one to blame but themselves. Run a lying, cheating, thief, and traitor to the Constitution as a candidate for the presidency, and you get what you deserve, and all the blame that goes along with it.
The Democrats are not pushing any of this. The laws of the United States are pushing back against a person who pays no attention to the laws.
You can blame whoever you want, but you should be looking at the asshole that has 91 felony counts against him at the moment.

I only wish the laws allowed the U.S. to go after the Republican party for their actions. They should be held accountable for pushing this criminal. Notice how the 14th has no mention of charges, trial, or conviction. And please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe precedent has been set regarding charges, trial, or conviction. None was necessary or used In the past.

It’s becoming clear that your real enemy is your fellow citizens with whom you disagree. They can’t be trusted to vote the way you want, so you ban their candidates from the ballot. Sounds vaguely Putin-esque.

But again, thank you for “saving democracy” by choosing which candidates you’ll permit me to vote for.
 
The Government of this country decided who can't be on the ballot, not any of us. It is called laws. Something Trump knows nothing about, or at least pays no attention to. Just like you. Laws. The laws decided that Trump can't be on the ballot. Your laws. You seem to want to blame Trump's breaking the laws as the fault of the people who don't like him. That is as Flawed as it can get. Always throwing the blame where it does not belong.

Hey, aren’t you the fella who had no problem with Trump soliciting the Georgia Secreatary of State to commit voter fraud by “finding” him 11,780 votes. I think you claimed it was nothing more than freedom of speech, or some such nonsense. The 14th amendment is not “self enforcing.” Section 5 is the enforcing provision and it puts the power solely in the hands of Congress to pass legislation covering the whole of the article and they did. Its 18USC2383 the rebellion and insurrection act to which no one has been charged.

The house cannot convict they can only send it to the senate which he did and he wasn’t convicted. So a bunch of democrat judges can’t just say they don’t like someone and they think he’s guilty of insurrection there has to be an actual trial where he’s found guilty. That’s why a panel of democrat judges in Minnesota and others have said no it’s not legal. SCOTUS should overturn it but who knows they’ve proven pretty weak kneed.

None of your jibberish changes the fact that the 14th amendment has been use 7-9 times in our history to bar persons from holding public office, and charges or conviction Were Not Used in one single case. Precendent has been set sweet pea, whether you like it or not.
