Fu*%face Von Clownstick

Genuine question for the Trump supporters in this issue.
Do you think what he was saying in this phone call constitutes attempting to change the vote illegally?
I am trying to work out how you see this as ok.
TIA.
Mick, in short, I don’t see this as “ok”. But it’s important to remember that “not ok” is a far cry from illegal, and even farther from provable beyond a reasonable doubt.

I said this earlier in this thread, but “find me the votes” isn’t necessarily probative. Example: if I ask my wife to help “find my car keys”, I’d fully expect her to find keys that already exist, not manufacture or conjure some keys out of thin air just because I desperately need my keys.

I'd like to see a tally of the 'irregular' votes that have been found since the election. Total. The whole country. Time for a grand reconciliation on the claim of 'lost' votes by the Big Lie.

PS I did some reading.

475

Total number of votes found.

Question, especially for parents believing The Big Lie. How do you reconcile this with your kids? The Big Lie isn't Santa and snipe hunting. What do you tell kids about lying and believing liars?

PPS

I'm reminded of Senator Al Franken's book

Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them

Well then find me the tooth fairy! That witch owes me money!

Do you know your mom’s address? (Cuz she’s the Tooth Fairy)

Edit: That was silly. I apologize. Carry on.

Excellent. You’re good at this, now lets find bigfoot

Silliness appreciated, but my rhetorical request stands. If I truly believe that bigfoot is real, and ask someone in earnest to find that thing once and for all, it doesn’t change anything. I struggle to believe that donny really only thought that he won by that slim of a margin. If he really believes the shit that he said, then he must believe that he won by a bigger number than that. What he was asking for was enough votes to overturn the results. Coincidence? I have my doubts. He didn’t ask for “the uncounted votes”, or anything like that, he asked for a specific number. Did he divine that like some kind of sage or visionary? Or was he requesting that someone- anyone- produce the results that he wanted? We will have to see the rest of the evidence and see if it meets the standards required for a conviction. He has gotten away with shit due to technicalities before, so I’m still concerned, but if he does escape justice, I won’t cry foul. If he can win the game, then he can walk, but if he is caught with his hand in the cookie jar, then I don’t wanna hear a bunch of whining when he goes to time out.

We all know, and most of us agree, that he was hardballing Raffensberger. He’s a NY realtor, whadaya gonna do? The question is whether or not it was illegal. I’ll admit I have yet to read the indictment (there are so many of them!), but each charge will have very specific elements that must be proven for conviction. At this point it seems we are encouraging the imprisonment of people who say things we disagree with. I predict the First Amendment will trump some of these charges, no pun intended.

Only as much as the first amendment allows one to shout fire in a crowded venue. Context matters.

I’m not comfortable with it, but I am resigned to it. Hard to take this stuff seriously. Just a nakedly political prosecution. As usual, Trump is guilty of being an insufferable ass, but this is nuts.

BTW @JCB, no hate here. I’m happy as a clam except for when I watch the news. Then it’s either Trump or Biden, both depressing in their own way.
Yeah, except that one of them is re-building the country's infrastructure and lowering drug prices while the other one keeps kicking over the building blocks.

So according to your "he is nothing more than an insufferable ass exercising his first amendment rights" defense, it is legal/ok for the President of the United States to solicit voter fraud by asking the Georgia Secretary of State to overturn/change the vote count/election results.

https://casetext.com/statute/code-o...licitation-to-commit-election-fraud-penalties

How bout the part of the phone call where Trump suggests/threatens the Secretary of State with a "criminal offense" if he doesn't do as he's been asked and overturn the states election results. More first amendment insufferable ass nonsense?

Ditto for Trump's fake elector scheme in Georgia?

"The Big Lie" is the oft-repeated Whopper of election fraud.
Oh - gotcha -that one. Yeah, I agree - those four years of Democrats running a rolling coup and going on about stolen elections, an illegitimate president, and Russkies was pretty bad. Glad we're past that.

Lol...democrats covering for their own 'big lies'...by smearing and accusing others of exactly what they are doing or have done...a well worn political strategy and they do it well.

FYI wikipedia is not an authoritative source for anything.

Lets get specific here homie. What exactly did the Dems do to poor Donny during those four years of your so-called "rolling coup"?
