Agree that we should always be allowed to voice our opinions, but Trump calling for this indoor rally during these times was beyond the pale. Truly one of the low points in America presidential history.....

Proves beyond doubt that he cares far more about himself and getting re-elected than he does about the health and lives of his own supporters. That should be completely obvious by now to anyone who has half a brain. He loves everything to be the biggest and greatest ever. This is only true in two cases: his ego and his incompetence.

Tulsa fire marshal counted less than 6200 inside at the rally instead of the million tRump was bragging would attend. The entire upper half of the stadium seats were mostly empty (photos in a number of places online, not at Fox of course) and there was no overflow crowd outside at all. Maybe not all of tRump's supporters are so stupid as to put his re-election above their own health and lives.

I believe I read that a bunch of K-pop fans and teens on TikTok reserved thousands of seats to the rally with no intention of purchasing or attending. Kinda trollish but so it goes.
I’m not yuge on pop music but I wouldn’t mind seeing Pink. Very talented voice on that lady.

Maybe so, but where was the overflow crowd outside? The rally was a bust, plain and simple. Trump is losing support and he has no one to blame but his own big mouth and ineptitude. This is a fickle country at elections. We flipflop from one party to the other if we want change, and I think we are getting ready to flipflop again.

Considering that over 650 healthcare workers in the US have died due to Covid19 to date, the majority of them having acquired the infection in the workplace, it seems to me that people protesting against masks, and isolation measures are spitting directly upon the graves of those heroic people. Michael Osterholm said about the cavalier attitudes of people who insist that it's their right to put themselves at risk, Let them do it, but first have them sign a waiver that they won't seek medical attention if they become infected, because in reality, they really aren't just putting themselves at risk.

Neat! More prominent Republicans coming out for Biden. There are Republicans who do genuinely care about this country and where it is headed under the inept windbag the GOP backed last election. He is dragging the party into the toilet and more and more of them are finally taking a stand against that. These are not ordinary swing voters. These guys are die-hard GOP and held positions of influence in previous GOP administrations.

Speaking of blind devotion, I find it interesting that it only goes one way. You’ll notice Democrats never ever diverge from the party line. I can’t think of an equivalent group of Democrats to the one listed above for the Republicans. Can someone name me the group of moderate Democrats who steadfastly opposed Barack Obama? Or are we still under the impression that Obama was not radical enough to be opposed? Is there even such a thing as “too far left”, or “far-left wing”? I have yet to hear a major news outlet even dare to call the residents of our peaceful neighbors from Chaz left wing.

Maybe someone can point me to a recent major Supreme Court case were the left wing members of the court diverged from their party line and did not vote together. It’s always the conservative judges who are expected to moderate themselves and surprise us. Why are none of the left-leaning judges ever expected to be a swing vote?

These are of course rhetorical questions.

The few times I voted was for the Democratic Party, and in my opinion Obama was the better option when it came down to the two of them. But......

The reason quite a few Republicans are diverging from their party line right now is precisely because they have a very good reason to. As to the media, other than Fox, not calling the protests a left wing movement, this is due to the fact that it is not. Trump has tried to politicize it but police brutality is something that affects black people and minorities of any party. There are plenty of Republicans and swing voters concerned about this too, and in the three local protests I witnessed here, it was people of both parties involved, although granted the Republican presence was definitely in the minority. There is little question that in modern times, the Democratic Party is the one that overwhelmingly represents the true interests of ordinary Americans. This is obvious to anyone who truly watches the GOP in action, continually coming out against any domestic social programs, funds for the arts, etc., and objecting to government spending and big government - until they are in power. Then the national debt skyrockets with corporate bailouts, and billions spent on the military, etc. The GOP consistently comes down on the side of Big Insurance, Big Pharma, and Big Business in general and it has nothing to do with any trickle-down to us. And we see roll backs of the protections for our national parks and lands, and in Trump's own case, simply undoing anything at all that Obama did, as a personal vendetta, regardless of how needed and useful the measures were. I was a Republican myself for a long time til I started actually paying attention to what they were doing, not what they were saying. The Democratic party has its own problems but they are so much more answerable to the needs of ordinary Americans. Look which party is already dragging its feet right now on whether we are going to get any more stimulus or help during this ongoing pandemic. It is Moscow Mitch and the senior GOP who are against it and Trump has vowed to veto any more of it. But watch when it is time to hand millions and millions to their pet companies. And look who is totally against any transparency as to where a lot of the stimulus money has already gone. Why would they object to us knowing, since it is basically our own tax money to start with? Open your eyes, Buck.
