friction saver accident

Sounds like it would of hurt!
I dont ever let the friction saver freefall to the ground and also slings & pulleys.Also I would never fell or drop any part of a tree with hardware in it!And while im at it would never use my climb line to pull the remaining tree/spar/head over to finish the job after decending to the ground.

yeah it hurt pretty bad. i know that everyone here including myself, do things when we get tired or lazy and then have one of those WOOOPS moments. i have been writing down my mistakes everyday even if they are minuscule like getting whipped in the face by a a rope or flip line.
 
Besides whacking your noggin, the friction saver that you trust your life to is banging away on the ground. I've never had the throwline get stuck on retrieval. Don't drop your gear.
