Who needs rock climbing with tree bark like this? I ascended the tree using my traditional static line and trailed my dynamic rope into the tree. I built and anchor, hooked up my dynamic rope, rappelled to the ground, and got ready for some self-belayed free climbing. (In rock climbing, free climbing is defined as climbing rock while on belay. Free soloing is defined as climbing rock without any ropes for protection. Don't mix them up!) Check it out:

WARNING! If you get motion sick easily make sure to watch this video on a small screen.

Video option 1: This version has weird commentary, at normal speed, with the boring parts cut out. Don't watch this one if you don't like weirdness.

OR!

Video option 2: This video shows the entire climb, without any cuts, and was sped up to prevent you from getting bored while watching it. No commentary.

Fish strikes again. Very impressive. I have three poplars on my property similar to that one and there is no way I doing that on them.

Thanks guys!

"if you are ever in VT drop me a line man. I would love to climb with you."
and if you ever stop by MN hit me up too!

"You don't have to put up with annoying tourists at Taylor's Falls"
Holy crap, so true. Freaking tourists throwing rocks over the cliff edges.
