Food Thread

I have learned over the years cooking for myself that you can put together some “fancy” meals just using some simple and common ingredients and some good old fashioned...

I’m speaking generally. Yours and @Tom Dunlap last posts just got me thinking. You don’t need a cooking degree or a bunch of fancy ingredients to be able to cook. Not that there is anything wrong with that if you like to get that involved, but for those people who don’t but still want to make some great dishes while keeping things simple, some creativity with what you got in your cabinets and fridge or a quick trip to the local grocery store can go a long way.

Lol I’m still kinda bewildered that lobster is considered a fancy food. Ever eaten a whole Maine lobster? It’s barbaric and messy as hell! Very delicious though and the fishermen that catch them definitely deserve a good buck for their wares.
 
I can relate to being tired of cooking. I'm about an hour and change from a Longhorn and one of these days I aim to get there, it seems very well reviewed.
Of the chain steakhouses, I think it’s one of the best. I debate whether Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse is better, but I think Longhorn wins that one.

Plantains are related to bananas, but much different.
They take some technique to peel.
Typically, they are "pre-cooked" prior to the final use / cook.

In other / more words, do some research to see what you want to make; don't just go buy them.
