Not a chance! Do people actually eat those things on purpose?
@Reach I was going to throw the Rice Cakes into the Trash (Really ! ) .
Then I thought I might use them to thicken soups, sauces, etc.

They are so dry, & tasteless; they will probably last forever AND not change the flavor the the sauce ! ! !
Unfortunately, they do take up cupboard space !

Second Fried Oyster – Breading comparison
Rev: 211215 0855

Bad news, Bad news, Good news

After my 1st comparison (Post above #1425) I decided to try:

Breading:
AP Flour – base
Egg wash
Breadings:
1. Panko
2. Fried Pork skins (MAC’s brand)
3. Pork cracklings (very crunchy) – Fried out pork fat w/ skin

The fried pork “chips” were ground-up w/ a food processor.
However, the Cracklings contained so much un-rendered fat, that they formed a granular paste.
I had to add some Panko & AP flour to dry it into a “breading”.

Results:
Panko overall best taste, crunch & ease of prep.
I really couldn’t tell the difference between the three breadings.

Looks great
(As usual)

You sure do have good (expensive!) taste!
Thank You
But I just love food
Hotdogs or lobster doesn’t matter

I actually don’t care for “fine dining”

Such as capital grill or ruth chris steakhouse
I like good food but not a suit and tie guy or family
Nothing against them just makes me feel uncomfortable (atmosphere not clothing)
