First day on the job...SRT is allowed!

As if starting a new job isn't enough of a birthday present I got another gift. When I asked if SRT was allowed the ops manager said that as long as the system was used in accordance to standards he was OK with it.

Us FNGs will be rotating around the five sections of the city and working with all of the foreman for a while. I'll talk with my crew leaders and foreman before I go up SRT but I have the OK from 'above'!

Now...bring on some warm weather! Near record low overnight and near record low high today~~~not a present that I ever want to get again!

Better be careful with this...they will see how easy it is for you and leave you all the nasty stuff cus you know easier ways to handle it. They will say,"Lets leave this for Tom, hes got the fancy shiny do-dads to handle this. At least thats what happened when I busted out out an SRT ascent at work. First they were like

"what are you doing choking a running bowline to your TIP". Then they were like

"are you going to compete in the ISA Climbing Comp this year?"
