First annual Arborist Assembledge at Arbor-X 2013

Whiz and Crazy Jim,
you guys would fit in perfect. Good candidates for the next one. yes, I think right after the expo is best too. Bixler is almost finished Part II video also.

I can give a list of hotels and numbers near us. Further converse over email I guess.

The Italian guy might not be able to do it yet, money is tight for him. He said their economy is crashing, many customers not paying his company for work they complete.

I will have a booth at tci expo for the X-Rigging Rings, plus do a talk on Saturday on Crane work.

See you guys there maybe? Be sure to stop in if you are there.

yes sir, see what you can line up.

I'm thinking Nov 18th to the 22nd.

Hey Reg and possibly others that might fly in to tci expo North Carolina:

I'm driving home from it on Sunday Nov 17th. Why not ride with me, spend the week working together and fly home on the 23rd or 24th?

Change your return flight home from the expo, that's all.

...another thing I learned is that you can do so much more than I ever thought with a Contract/Invoice. I have always used it to tell the client what I would do for them and what they will do for me. David uses his contracts to educate. He had what I assume were pre-programed write ups of why one would do a certain type of work. If I am not mistaken, prepping a Contract on the computer and typing in a specific type of work would prompt a print out of the reasons for said work then just add cost.

What a great idea. Most people I suspect would read through about one section like that and say, “Man I picked the right guy, he sure knows his stuff”, and go to reading down the price column. Some would read every word and be benefitted that way. All would be far more informed and loyal as customers.

What would it take to interest you in teaching an online class in how to reproduce this in our businesses David?

That is correct. In our quick books program, for instance, if a crown reduction was to be quoted, I start to type in CR in the item column, "crown reduction" pops up. I click on it and it comes with a long description on what a proper crown reduction is and also educates against topping. Then, I might go in and adjust something like the percentage of foliage reduction. (in the old days we often did 25%, now it is usually 10-15%).
A lot of people use software like this, I think.... but most seem to make descriptions as few words as possible. I don't understand this. why not educate your customer and also make very clear WHAT you are going to do.
An online class?
I don't know, it seems the more I scatter myself into different things, the more I suffer financially.
If I could only pause or slow down time, I would do more.

Bixler, I guess your trip here didn't benefit you in any way?

Lawrence? make your entrance to treebuzz....

This may not be the time and you may not be the person David, but one day I hope we as a community can expand our parameters for learning and growing beyond what we already do.

Any successful transaction needs to benefit all parties. Let’s say it took $10,000 split as a percentage between a teacher of a specific skill and TreeBuzz who provided the environment where we made contact and communicated. I’m weak at paperwork. I would gladly pay to have enough of a handle on this type of contract writing to employ it in my business. One hundred businesses that pay $100 each, or if only thirty three could be found $303 each.

I get all my buss. word of mouth from other happy customers. I think this added professionalism would make the least diff. to my bottom line of any type of tree business that I have been around. I still think it would result in a minimum of $5K more in accepted contracts per year as an absolute minimum. I would pay $303 so happily.

I would pay for that as well. Im that guy in the office at 10PM, 5AM typing as few words as possible to get the quotes done. Now if you enter all the text into QB ahead of time.....when you do the quotes its right at your fingertips.

First Step:
Call TreeStuff and have Luke put $300 of your dollars on my account.

Second Step:
Go to Youtube.com

Search: Quickbooks Tutorial

sounding greedy to me bonner.

Seems like they were asking for the actual wording after they got the idea to put in more text into the description.

quickbooks tutorials aren't going to help you with proper tree care descriptions.

I'll post some when I get the time guys. There is a LOT of trimming, removal, cabling, stump grinding, and more items that we have numerous descriptions for.

are you guys going to contact me and Solidify some dates or are you all talk?

I'm thinking Nov 18th to the 22nd.

Reg not coming.

Got some big fun oaks coming up.

Only one guy just contacted me via email.

Need more than one visitor to make it worth while.

I really want to go but I'll have to share expenses with someone. Can anyone share with me? I'm easy to deal with, don't smoke and I make KILL Belgian Waffles. Just ask any of the cool kids.
