Ficus Tree

A friend of mine was telling us about some large tree in the middle of the valley in San Pasqual , he told us that this tree has been there for yrs, iv'e been living and working in that valley for yrs and never seen this tree that he keeps talking about, so me and my friend jump in our truck a take a drive out into the valley and this is what we found in the middle of a orange grove..

We are going to be doing a GPS on this tree and find out more on this cool ficus tree , also we talk to the farmers about doing some pruning on this tree , it has some verry heavy branches that could use help and some TLC...

Nice tree! It looks like Ficus macrophylla, Moreton Bay Fig, but it's a bit hard to tell from the photos.

That's a neat find! There's a Moreton Bay fig in santa barabara that's one of the coolest trees I've ever seen.

That's right it's a Moreton Bay Fig tree, the Fig tree in Santa Barbara i have a small cutting that a friend gave me from that tree around 6yr ago and i have it in a 15 gal pot and it's around 3 to 4 ft right now . I'll be planting my ficus tree in our rain forest at the park this coming yr and i hope to see it get that big , well not quite that big ,,,,
