Fertilizing, not all it's cracked up to be?

Rather than the thought process of introducing "bugs" we should be thinking of creating the ideal habitat for the native bugs to thrive. Test the soil and determine nutrient deficits. Address accordingly. Fertilize where needed. Invigorate compacted soils, backfill with compost and biochar.
Right right but the point was when soil work wont be performed due to budget or client desires to keep the damn lawn. Yes keep trying to sell that work and enhance existing bugs etc I'm a huge proponent of that above and beyond most other maintenance and preservation processes. That point is also to get away from the salts that kill many of the bugs
 
Interesting correlation between this topic and microbes in the gut, same thing I guess. I've read that pro-biotics, kombucha, etc is a waste of money, especially if you don't change your diet.
