Felling Large Hollow Oak Split In Half

Looked like a slightly slipping back cut.

Hinges looked straight and proportioned reasonably.


Two wedges in the back cut. Use an ax.

I sometimes shave bark of hinges to watch the wood, spot vertical splitting early. Avoid Dutchmans/ bypass.
