Euc 1

Corymbia henryi is one of around 80 eucalypts which were transferred in 1995 from the genus Eucalyptus to the newly created genus Corymbia. The species was formerly known as Eucalyptus maculata.

We just remove one large Maculata at work , it was a shame to take it out , it was right in the middle of a large project here at work . We try to safe it but no luck..

Ekka, now you're confusing me! I wonder if people around here would know that tree as a Euc, or a Corymbia.

I wonder if people around here would even KNOW that tree at all!

You are gonna get a headache with this!

The main difference between Eucalypts and Corymbia? Well, that's a tough one. Get a cap and look closely at the valves. If the valves are not outward or level with the rim but are inside or sunken inside etc it most likely is a corymbia. Obviously all bloodwoods are corymbias so that makes it easier but some smooth barked gums are also in there.

Problem is having over 900 of these makes it tough and the botanists just love to tinker.
