Took down a pine that took yesterday and today and my equipment is absolutely covered in sap. Everything is sticky with it. My climbing rope has so much on it I could hardly move my prusik hitch when trying to descend / ascend, and at some points I couldn't move it at all.
Any tips for cleaning? Should I even bother cleaning the rope or just buy a new one? It's probably time for a new one anyways so this would give me a ready reason to make the purchase. But what about the saws, etc.? My arms are covered with it too lol.
This was my first pine job and needless to say I didn't expect it to be this messy.
