Seems that its only a matter of time before a falling piece snarls in the dangling rope.

Evo, IIRC, has a falling branch snag and stick on the thimble on the bottom of his lanyard (possibly flipline).
 
How is that 99% luck? Sure it does not conform with the way the "industry people" would do it but viewed on face value, looks like a lot of skill and coordination to me. I applaud that climber, that was badass! :rock:

Rope flipline with a stopper knot. HUGE hemlock witches broom, pieced it out to one mass of small stubs. Heavier than I am, and sucked me in to the laynard support. It sucked, but not close to life threatening. If it was a little heavier, and a wire core, I'd be stuck in a bad way.
