Echo DCS-2500T

Oh yeah. I can get a squeak like sound by triggering it 6 or 8 times and tilting it to different attitudes in front of me.

Blends in with bar drag sound and I usually wear plugs all day even though running batt saws.

Does anyone hear their 2500t squeak?

Maybe a normal noise typically drown out by a gas engine?

Yah, mine does quite a bit. Yesterday I took the bar/chain off, and it still does it, so the noise comes from the powerhead for sure. Not exactly sure what piece, but it is a rather unpleasant sound.

"Yah, $357 after tax/shipping. I don't understand why there are so many constantly on ebay, from different sellers even, around the $330 mark, when they are $550 at Home Depot and $430 on Amazon... At $350 for the package honestly it seems like a hell of a deal."

Maybe? lol

It's a fun idea, but it would have to be an absurdly detailed bootleg. The saw, battery charger, packaging, manual, accessories and all that are just as you'd expect from OEM material in terms of feel, performance, etc. I can't imagine a knock-off company going to that length without cutting obvious corners in other areas than a single little noise as the saw is deaccelerating. (the only time I hear it)

My second proper day with the 2500 and quickly realizing how much I like the saw, far more than I'd initially expected.

Fir limbs aren't very big (most of the time), so until you get into the trunk you really don't need a lot of power to get the job done. This little thing is so much lighter than the T540i it does perfectly fine stripping trees and taking small tops (sometimes I need to take large tops with 16" or 20" saws) that it is likely to become a regularly used climbing saw for me. The battery was enough to do one small and two medium removals (limbs and top, swapped to the 261 for most of the trunk wood) before dying. It did NOT like wood this size, but made a few cuts before crapping out.

The stock Oregon 050 chain got much better after one hand file, but I'm still going to play with chain options and have the 1/4" in the mail.

I've had one for a few weeks now, I'm pretty impressed with it for what it is. I did the 1/4 pitch panther conversion with the 14" bar. eBay is definitely the place to buy it and an extra battery. I love being able to just pick it up and pull the trigger and start cutting.

Was thinking seriously about getting the Milwaukee because of the power it seems to have, but I got to pick one up and hold it and changed my mind. Power = weight, and you pay for the power with a heavy saw. I am going to stick with the 2500 for the time being, even I can't lean on it hard. Top handles are made for limbing, not bucking.

The milkwaukee looks awkward not sure if it feels awkward but that means a much to me as actual weight.

Actually, it was balanced pretty good. I was surprised. It had the smaller battery in it, but it didn't feel as cumbersome as I thought it would. It is just too heavy for what I want a battery saw for.

I spent all day dead wooding and doing end weight on doug firs with mine the other day, still very happy with it when it comes to jobs where I'm only making smaller cuts.

I've had the 1/4" conversion kit sitting on my workbench for months now, I keep meaning to make a video of it in stock form first, before doing the changeover. But eh, I don't have a lot of motivation to make videos even though I recently bought the newest gopro for just that....

I just converted my 2511, and I'm pretty pumped about it. It's just the ticket for smaller saws.

The battery on mine does NOT like the cold. 20-30*f and it wants to give up, even with leaving it in the truck while setting up etc. Otherwise very happy with it.

I’ve been keeping the batteries inside at night and seem to be fine around 30 degrees but haven’t used much below that, been oddly mild winter here so far
