It's the same chain as the T540 Husq which does seem to be super smooth. Not sure about speed vs the 1/4, but guessing more durable.This is sort of a bridge between the 3/8LP and the 1/4" chain?
Just so you know there is a world of difference between the T540i and the T542i's cutting ability if you compare new chain to new chain. I thought, "what difference could a clutch being added make"? But, I think they are delivering more power and using battery a bit faster too. If you ever get a chance to use one, do.Ok. I have a T540i and keep going back and forth between the stock bar/chain and the 1/4" conversion. The powerhead is heavy and tricks you into thinking you can dog it but the 1/4" chain is not up to anything but finessing. I may try this on my 201 rear handle with a 16" bar.
