Dwarf Trees

Xylem I am sorry but I dont know of any magnolias that dont get less than 20 feet tall and I am here in the Carolinas and I was out today looking at them and they are all about 30 -- 40 feet tall at the average.

Thanks for all the info! We ended up going w/ the Magnolia "Little Gem" variety and a few multi-stemmed Crape Myrtles for color contrast.

Planted along red brick wall entrance to a sub-division

I might have suggested those, but I pruned crape myrtles both in Georgia (Savannah) and in Oregon that were over 20 feet tall.

Little Gem M. will easily reach 20'. Haven't seen one that high yet, but I know if I can buy one for only $80 and its already 9 to 10 feet to the tip, its going to reach 30 feet plus someday.

Unless its pruned to keep it under 20'.

At least those are fairly slow growing trees.

There's one called a Chitalpa (not Catalpa) that appears to grow as slow if not slower than the Little Gem M..
