Do you always wear your helmet?

I have all three of those helmets and with the ear muffs and visor, the Strato is the lightest. I’ll have to double check that though.
Do you have one with no ear muffs? If know you won't be using a chainsaw having one without saves a lot!

My everyday helmet has no earmuffs...I use plugs when using a saw. I do have a separate forestry helmet for when I know I'll be using earmuffs more.

I’m a hypocrite, I aim for full perceived perfection with the crew. I try to model it when I’m working with them.
Just the other day I was showing a client where to subordinate a codom in his copper beech. The cut was about 12’ off the ground in a 8” caliper tree. I just jumped up and pointed, asked if he wanted me to make the cut while I was there. He handed me my handsaw that was on the back seat of my car.
No Ppe and not ashamed.

My crew knows better not to let me catch them doing likewise. But this was collecting a cash payment a few days after a job solo.

Thats a good idea!

When it's really hot I take mine off when I can.

In 2008 during my apprenticeship, we were trimming a big honey locust and it was super hot out. Soon as the climber was down, my friend Steve threw off his helmet while raking up. Few minutes later a wind blew up and dislodged a little stick of deadwood that hadn't yet fallen. Small piece, size of your little finger. But that little piece speared Steve right on top of the head and gave him a nasty gash. Bleeding a lot. Boss man took him to emerg and said "just don't tell them it happened at work". Took 10 staples to close it up. At least that's the way I remember it...

Mine is on pretty much from when I leave the truck, until I get back in the truck. Protos, so my ear Pro is always there, and deployed quickly, I’ve got music, or can take a phone call. Doesn’t bother me one bit. Even my recreational activities, I’m wearing a helmet….
Once I replace my current protos I will likely do the same. Mine is black and that was a mistake! At least for my sensitive little noggin.

Is it a comfort thing? Or just looks?
Comfort for starters, but the way the ear pro tucks away and deploys so effortlessly is the first thing you really notice. That part is so well thought out. The adjustability of the fitment creates the potential for the best fit you have ever experienced. Probably irrelevant if you happen to have a super "average" skull shape, but if this angle or that has ever been something that you just had to get used to, it MAY offer adjusment in that direction. The little padded arm that can lock in behind the back of skull to give a secure fit that doesn't shake around or slide, when adjusted properly, is an awesome feature that I use often. I only use the chinstrap for climbing. The closeable vents are well designed, and a solid plus for four season users. After getting used to it for a while, all my old helmets feel like clown costume helmets.

I wasn't gonna buy one, but my boss gave me one that he bought for himself for some goverment contracts that he ended up turning down. He never wears a helmet, but he is 71, so who am I to tell him how to run his business. Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I wore the kask plasma for many years, I hated the way the add on muffs were, but I dealt with it. One cold winter morning, I broke the suspension/adjuster getting it out of the truck, no biggie right? Nope, had to buy a whole new helmet (such a goddam waste of plastic). Everything on the Protos is integrated, and can be changed/replaced accordingly. I love them, the muffs like @Matias said, the flip down face shield (which I use a lot) is super handy. Very adjustable/rebuildable, it’s a nice product.
