Disgruntled ex employee

[ QUOTE ]

As far as him coming at you, let the police know there is potential for situation ahead of time and keep a bat or paintball gun by the door. You want it to be painful but not lethal. But if HE brings a gun with him your porked.

If you have a door between you and him and then open it to confront him you are also liable. Self defence will be thrown out the window.

I would try to talk with the guy when he's not affected by drugs.

I'd want to explain to him that I have a duty of care to him as an employee and that it is the law that I must be convinced that he is in a good alert state of mind to be able to employ him. It is dangerous to him otherwise. These constraints are not of my making. I HAVE to pay attention to them. Our industry has potential dangers lurking everywhere.

One of the only people I have ever had to sack is now a very good friend, although the circumstances were quite different.

Hey MTCInc,

It's been a while...what happened?

Well, so far so good. I received a call from him very late on a Saturday night... He was totally wasted, acted like we were friends, and told me he understood why I fired him.

Then, a few days later (sober), he calls and leaves me a message, asking if I know of any job leads to send his way. Of course, I do not call back...

Then, the next morning, I get yet another phone call from him on a tirade because I did not phone him back.... He vented all his problems, and tried to tell me I was the root of them. He said he was getting his car repoed, was going back to jail, etc... This was about 2 months or so ago, and it has been the last I have heard from him. I did see him drive by a few weeks after his last call, and he gave me the finger gesture. Since then, I have not seen him... Maybe he is back in jail

What about here in Dallas when that guy shot out his closed door and killed that musician? He got smooth away with it. Said it was a warning shot supposed to be over his head and the musician was tall.

Police in Plano Texas will tell you that their job is AFTER the crime has been committed and they don't referee.
