detroit wrap

... My biggest problem with ascending the rope in most SRT configs is that the biner, along with the bridge flop away and down and the line does not maintain a straight line like a croll does. My goal here is to more imitate the action of a croll. ...

even with a hitchclimber you end up with carabiner slop. i do throw my lanyard over the shoulder to hold whatever hitch I have upright. ...

its not really the hitch so much as the way its attached to the harness and climber

Kevin - your lanyard seemed to advance your hitch in your video. Where do you attach your lanyard in your setup pictured below?

I attach it directly to my rope wrench which is about the level of my collarbone. The wrench in turn holds up the hitch.

Just a thought ... you may want to re-visit that attachment point.

The action of a croll works when held close to the chest. You might re-consider getting all your attachments together, close (tight) to the chest, that is: both ends of your hitch, your rope wrench tether, and your tender pulley ... much the way you did in your video ... idk ... just a thought ...

Will we be able to order the midline attachable rope wrench from over here in new zealand? Cash or credit? Or will I need to make a special trip to Detroit?
Thanks Kevin, looking forward to it,
Russell
