Deep and dark...

At the end of the day I have the bad habit to send branch even if I know that the chance it might hit something are really big....I feel so stupid because I've been roping everetything during the day...

I get so en Tabarnac after my trowball sometimes that I do kick my folding cube.
When it happen I also usually accent tree on really questionable branch. Then 50 feet in the air I get scared and as soon as I get close to the trunk I lanyard my self and continu on my srt rope.

I also climb with a helmet that got a 4 inch long crack since 3 years. Result of a trow on a fence. After a chipper issue.

Shit happen.

...dont want her picking up any bad habits from me.

If she's anything like my wife, she will notice every single damn thing, no matter how insignificant or quickly you do it, that you might have ever mentioned forty years ago as being a bad idea, and bring it up immediately when she spots you doing it. "Hey, babe... didn't you tell me 17 years, 3 months, 8 days, 4 hours and 27 minutes ago that only assholes and retards do that?" :berrinche:

Continuing a work climb beyond the point of fatigue, leading to poor practices trying to cut corners etc to "just get it done" so I don't have to come back. Sometimes I have to open one hand with the other because of cramping.

Seen a biker, a real one not some weekender guy, put his cig out in his gas tank. I was high school age and at a fuel station, thought the crazy sob was gonna blow us all to hell. He probably got a good kick out of the look on my face. Never tried it myself
Working and driving while worn out are probably the most dangerous things we do in a given day.

Im notorious for one hand cut and pitch Jedi manuvers. Now that my better half is around on the jobs more often I try to do things by the book just to set a good example. She is learning to climb and I dont want her picking up any bad habits from me.
You know I was just talking about this with Oceans. In training a greenie, I find myself reinforcing good habits in myself, because I don't want them picking up anything. As well, When you teach somebody something you remember the thing taught better as well

Whadya mean IF she is like mine? They are born that way! It's in their DNA.

Yes and yes Steve.
I'm getting better, but for a while I was really picky and maybe a little mean about who ran my ropes.

I think that being "maybe a little mean" stuff is your survival instinct kicking in. You were being a little mean to ensure you got someone on the ropes who would not try to kill you. Just my gut instincts talking here.

Some times the little demon creeps into my head, and starts talking. Wishing that I would get hurt, so I can take some time off. Freaks me out every time...
You must have some good ins.

That's my greatest work related fear.
