Deep and dark...

I was 30' up doing storm damage and told my groundie the exact words this friday..attitude goes a loooooong way towards any poor decision any of us make on a regular basis.

Oh yeah they do. I'm talking about when I'm not using it. They do great keeping the line out of the way. I'd have to pretty much gaff my foot to hit the line when it's in the spikecender

The other powers spurcender is nice too. Just depends if you wanna be able to kick out or do it by hand. The one I have is like the old pantin. I have done the fiori spring mod and I like that a lot.

I'm not familiar with that mod? But, I'm not so much a fan of the auto kick out. I've never had good luck with it. I'm sure it's technique issues.. But I've already solidified my grudge, y'know?

Deep and Dark: Since I switched over to Srt, I have found that my tree inspections are lacking. I wouldn't say it is a downfall of srt, but I do find myself getting to the top so quick that I don't spend time getting to know the tree on my way up like I used to. All its wonderful perfections and defects. Just something I have been noticing in myself. I guess to recognize mistakes is the best way change eh?

nspection is always a weak point for me.

I have really been working on lanyarding in to something meaningful, before making cuts since I started this thread. I think I may be breaking my habit.

Not wearing my ear protection. As a result I am beginning to miss out on the high frequencies. Can't hear the cidadas anymore.

Thanks for posting this. A specific result like this, that tells people what they stand to lose by not using a particular piece of safety gear, is very helpful.

Unless guys start to find out that they can't hear their nagging wives as well, which might cause men all over the country to stop wearing hearing protection.

So, maybe better not to advertise that result too much.

Tim
