CRANE!! AM I DREAMING?

Wow! Congrats!

Based on the pics, that price seems mighty reasonable. 30T rear mount is a tree wrecking machine. Btw, what size crane do you most often rent now for your crane jobs?

Congrats! Looks like a nice setup for tree work.

Yeah, I was impressed with the 105 feet of live boom with a hook height of 115 feet. Plus it has the jib, but I would like to not have to rely on the jib. I have used a crane with 110 fret of live boom and there hasn't been a tree we couldn't do. I also used a 92 foot boom crane and that got almost 80-90% of the jobs done.

Thanks guys. I will post some pics of it once it's painted and of course a few shots of it doing some work.

I love the rear mount ability of it. I typically use a 33 ton rear mount national.

Congrats, Jonathon! Nice looking machine! I'm a big fan of both Sterlings and Nationals, so I'll give it a (y)(y)!

Yeah, is that a bad idea? Its a no thrills easy couple of pine trees that will be a good break in job.
No, that's a great idea - scratch it up before the paint job.

Only 1 question: How soon do the rest of us get to play with it (borrow it)?

Thanks Man, Come up anytime and take it for a spin. You could teach me a thing or two:)

Awesome Royce ! Post some pics once you have it all ready to roll!

Will do, It looks like I might get it earlier than expected. So I might get to work it on a few jobs rather than just one before paint. We shall see.

I'm sure you said, but I don't remember: who's operating it? You? Does VT require a license? Set it up in your yard first and swing some logs around. Pick a fatty, then boom out/down until you approach the capacity limit to see how it behaves.

Noted! Yes, I will be operating it. I plan to do just that very thing. The guy that trained me said the cry same thing. Get a large log and just keep is a foot off the ground. He said I should be able to feel the crane and how it reacts. I am actually thinking of spending a good half day or so just doing that kinda stuff with it.
