Covid Close To You

Facts are a funny thing in this day and age. Not so easily sourced, as big money controls the narrative of all main stream sources and most of government at this point in time. CDC states 94% co-morbidity, leaving 6% of your 330k dying from covid alone, most of these are already above the current average life span in the US.

I have an immediate family member and a good friend who are both RN's. One in the third largest city in the US, the other in the largest city of a moderately populated state. Neither are remotely overwhelmed, and mock the ridiculous reporting and drama that's been playing non-stop on the TV box. Plenty of the same coming from social media as well, but I don't personally know any of those people, so I can't speak on their behalf.

It's difficult to take it all that seriously, based on the mixed bag of nonsense coming from every angle of this whole thing, starting right from the very beginning. The massive contradictions and emotional responses are the real tragedy of this virus (no disrespect to people who have lost friends or family to the "actual" virus or to the hardships created by the government fuck-ups that ensued.) The sociopaths in charge seem to be loving and thriving on this. Rules for thee, but not for me.
This shouldn't be political. It should be very straightforward. We are in the middle of a deadly pandemic. Take the basic precautions encouraged to save lives and slow the spread. Simple. All the rest is background noise.

Agreed, it should not be political at all. That is exactly what is keeping it from being very straightforward. Politics and media, which are both controlled by big money. The clusterfuck we're seeing is exactly what they want. People with huge amounts of money and power don't throw their money away on things that don't produce the results they want to see.

Meanwhile, local pizza shop closure is going on week three - not by government fiat but because the staff all got sick. And the nearest coffee shop closed for the third time this year, because covid keeps rotating through the staff.

So far, all their losses are due to ill workers. They were never closed by government order.

Not doubting this, but I haven't seen it around here, and I live in a heavily populated area just outside of a large city.

Yo, how about you take your nonsencial ideas and make your own thread? Scroll down to the bottom and look at the tree free zone, your rantings of madness are better suited there. Or best look for that lost penny up your asshole.

So since my dad died of a semi common fungal infection in his lungs, that is easily treatable, the cause of death on his certificate is wrong because it states non-hodgekins lymphoma as the cause? Nevermind the fact the reason the fungal infection wasn't easily treatable was due to the cancer?
Yes, I take offense to this utter bullshit logic that co-morbid deaths aren't true deaths related to this damn virus.

Nonsensical ideas. Right. I guess I need to start watching TV or sign up for Fakebook to get the real facts.

Sorry about your father. Unfortunately death is a part of life. Sometimes it makes sense other times it seems downright cruel. I lost my father to cancer as well.

We have a covid denying, anti mask ranting idiot in my little community. All the same fucking nonsense. Covid deaths are grossly inflated..Hospitals, doctors and nurses are lying about covid. Masks don't work. Its all a ruse so Bill Gates can mirco-chip us and rule the world. Boy did his tune change when he lost his mom to covid....What a fucking asshole!

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if covid took my mother at this point. She's above the average life span, living in a facility, with a couple co-morbidities. The worst part so far is having extremely limited time with her for the past ten months. She also has two grandchildren she has yet to see in person due to lockdowns. This would only be topped by her dying alone in the hospital because no one is allowed to visit. What an asshole we all are for questioning the narrative spewing from the TV box.

If she were my mother I would want every protection possible put in place to stop her from getting infected. So she could meet those grandchildren without risking her life in the near future. I hope nobody gives her covid!

She would like to live out her life as she see's fit. Her and many others in her home feel the same way. They'd rather risk "living" the last few months or possible few years of their lives visiting with loved ones, rather than being locked away in a room. Prison.

Or maybe try asking her what she wants?

This appears to be as relevant today as when it was written in 1948 by CS Lewis. Just substitute 'COVID-19' for 'atomic bomb'.

Guys, I never claimed righteous power to imprison anyone. Or moral authority. I can see how public measures are over bearing, if you consider the people willing to take the risk. Go take the risk! Be free!
BUT RECOGNIZE
It's not just individual risk, isolated to your own body. Vulnerable people deserve equal protection, and if they arent safe entering public places that kind of seems like discrimination. And it kind of seems like if your mom might get other people sick maybe she needs some social boundaries to bump against. If my mom and your mom were friends, I would maybe tell mine to be careful! Dont have a tea party, go out for a walk and were the damn mask! That's all I can do. The government can do more, and they will because we have laws against discrimination and protecting the rights of citizens equally. And there is a struggle over those matters that will also take place in our private lives.

My thoughts kind of mirror the thinking behind laws prohibiting drunk driving vs the culture of drunk driving. People do it often in a social context, it's illegal, and also irresponsible, and people's lives can be at stake. I have done it cause it's easy to drink and it's easy to want to drive and it's hard to convince yourself not to. But if you are with a friend and they care about the unnecessary risk you are taking (to other drivers and yourself), you might get your keys taken away! Generally thought of as a good thing.
Would you take my keys away if I were drunk and ready to roll? What if you had the power or already had them? Give me my keys!

The government can do more, and they will. Therein lies the problem. They will never relinquish power and control once they have it, and never let a crisis go to waste. This isn't a left vs. right thing as both sides have proven this over and over throughout history. Maybe it's time for a divorce, rather than forcing everyone to stay in an abusive relationship.

As your friend I would attempt to take your keys, try to reason with you, offer to get an Uber, offer to drive you myself, stall you as long as possible in an attempt to try to sober you up. But in the end, if you insisted and weren't falling down drunk, about to pass out, I would need to respect your choice, as stupid and risky as that choice may be. You are the one who will have to live with the consequences of that choice.

It’s not just about how a couple people want to live their lives.

At the beginning of this thing, COVID killed a bunch of nursing home residents before strict measures were in place regarding visiting.

So let’s say a few of those residents want to just “live their lives as they see fit” does that mean jeapordize the lives of those who want to follow precautions to try and survive? Jeaopordize the lives of the nurses and caregivers because you just want to live your life the way you want without regard for another person’s wellbeing?

If that’s the case, get the fuck out of the nursing home and go somewhere else if you want to live your life as you see fit without sacrificing everyone else’s life. That’s precisely the problem right now is there’s too much “me” and “what I want” and less thinking about the wellbeing of everyone.

The same goes for the anti-mask and anti-lockdown assholes who are bitching and whining like selfish spoiled pricks that their rights are being violated because they have to wear a mask and socially distance.

Your rights aren’t being violated. Nobody is telling you that you can’t go outside or leave home, etc.

But when you go into a public space, or a business, such as a nursing home, you have to abide by the rules set forth. It’s not YOUR private home where you can do what you want within.

Wearing a mask and socially distancing is a small sacrifice to save lives. When your “rights” start harming the lives of others, it’s a problem.

You think all this nonsense spewing from the TV is some conspiracy or control scheme? Why don’t you go look at what’s happening in some of the US hospitals right now, patients lying in hallways because there aren’t enough ICU’s, or having to turn away patients and ambulances. Entire families being torn apart due to people getting sick and dying, healthcare workers burnt out and exhausted, the list goes on.

The rest of us who have been following the guidelines and are doing the right things are suffering and aren’t able to get back to our lives because the anti-mask and anti-lockdown people aren’t gonna be told what to do.

All the people fighting the precautions who think there is some bigger scheme behind COVID are plain selfish and fueling the need for more restrictions. It’s that simple so why don’t people get it through their head? If we just all worked together we could get through this crisis and move on. Instead, it’s a fucking free for all because of a bunch of whining, ignorant people who are concerned only with what they want.

Time for a divorce. Forcing people to stay in an abusive relationship is insane. If this doesn't get sorted out, it's going to lead to something a lot more devastating than Covid deaths. People are getting fed up with this shit. Forcing people to submit is not going to work, plain, simple and quite obvious at this point. Time for a new strategy.

So because people are whining about wearing a mask say fuck it then, and if hundreds of thousands of more innocent people die and our hospitals and healthcare systems get crippled under the stress it is what it is because “people are fed up?”

I can not comprehend for the life of me what the fuck is the big deal about wearing a mask and socially distancing to get a deadly virus under control. The reason this shit is dragging on is because people are purposely neglecting precautions and whining about it! If you want to get back to normal everyday life just wear the mask and maintain your distance. So simple.

This should be about healthcare and the safety and wellness of people, not all this other nonsense that COVID has been twisted into.
