Continuous Loop Cords

You're correct.

From Sherrilltree.com:

This bright red tail has “FOR RIGGING ONLY” broadly displayed for easy identification and measures about 30% longer than climbing-designed tails. Longer tails mean quicker
attachment and more wraps when necessary on larger lines than ever before.

However in the Spec section of the climbing cord, it does say that it is an inch longer.

WLL is only displayed for the rigging sling at 540#.

540#?? I think at that rate I will stay with my cords I use now. They slip at 3000# and break at 4500#.

with a 10:1 safety factor for life support, that seems like breaking strength of 4500# means a WLL of 450#.

Personally, I have no use for a continuous loop prussic....unless it were long enough to tie the VT's cousin, the machard tresse.

Either hitch, due the "chinese finger trap" configuration, is superior to any other prussic for ease of adjustment, and ease of breaking it down.
