OK TOM... let me give this a try..
Both attacks were on high rise office buildings, blamed on terrorists which opened the door for the government to abuse even more power, curtail liberties and increase surveillance etc... Both attacks had major anomolies and the stories promoted by mainstream media had major flaws. Both buildings couldn't have been destroyed in the ways presented by NIST and reported in the MSM, according to a a large group of architects and engineers. IN the case of the Pentagon both attacks were on government buildings which housed information that was conveniently destroyed. DId you know the Rumsfeld announced 1.3 trillion dollars was unacconted for in the DOD, just the day before 911. I think it was the Waco documents that got destroyed in Oklahoma City. And by some remarkable coincidence the plane that got the Pentagon (which was never found) just happened to hit it in the accounting department. Both attacks changed the public's mindset to a more fear based perpective.
And in both attacks the media pumped out the government's cover stories and failed to report on the many inconsitencies and obvious lies being foisted on the weak minded... (you)...

Pentagon didn't lose trillions.
There was never 2.3 Trillion dollars missing. What happened was that an audit from the fiscal year 1999 found 2.3 trillion dollars in accounting entries that were not properly backed up meaning that auditors could not determine if the correct approvals and documentation was in place to identify the purpose of the entries.
The entire defense department budget for FY1999 was about 400 billion so it is impossible for 2.3 trillion to be missing.
This had been made public earlier, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld held a press conference in 9/10/2001 to discuss the issue and it really was no more exciting that Rumsfeld making the case that the Pentagon accounting systems needed to be upgraded.
9/11 happening the following day was a coincidence.
The fact that this was so poorly reported and so frequently misrepresented by 9/11 conspiracy mythologists is one of dozens of examples of where the truth is easy to find if the bothered looking for it, but, they preferred the useful myth to the useless (to them) truth.

I'm retiring from countering Daniel's conspiracy posts. Everyone knows by now how I analyze and break them down.
It really does come down to a combination of common sense, keeping in mind the horse vs. zebra rule from infectious disease experts (in diagnosis rule out the horse before calling it a zebra) and basic critical thinking.
The primary rule of being a strong propagandist is to repeat your assertions over and over again, eventually people will start to believe it, especially if they are "attractive" ideas that people want to believe.
In classic conspiracy theory there needs to be a malevolent "other" or "they", there needs to be a large number of deaths either asserted or denied (Alex Jones Sandy Hook denial), you will be called stupid or ignorant if you don't see what is "obvious" per conspiracy theory, you will see "maybe", and "possible" slide into "must be", then "facts" without evidence. You will see vapor called evidence.

Its a Nothingberger. Rumsfeld said that the day before. Out dated accounting not some conspiracy issue. Saying it in this context makes your case even muddier. Like the article says, fact checking is pretty easy.
