Compact Bulldog Bone

Got a question for you salty BDB vets. What is the largest diameter rope that will work well with the adjustable BDB? Thanks in advance.

@rico; It would have to be absolutely amazing coffee to have that effect on me. Thanks for giving us your impressions of the Compact Adjustable Bulldog Bone. Much appreciated.

Tim
Yea, I lace my coffee with testosterone, ground-up raccoon dookie, and the blood of fallen forest angels. This shit ain't for the faint of heart, and comes with a warning label. It has been known to cause marital troubles, feeling of intense euphoria, trouble urinating, pissing folks off on the interweb, and spontaneous dry humping of knotholes. I can send you some if you want!

For those having creep issues with new ropes, washing them can really help. In the last week or 2 I have beat the snot out of the HTP and it has flatten out a bit, leading to some mild creep. I have never washed a rope in my life, but after washing the 11 mm HTP and removing the waxy/slippery finish, it feels completely different (all for the better) in the BDB.

I just switched out the lower tear drop for a RE nano swivel... this seems to have changed the geometry somewhat and now the bdb is much grabbier, jerking descent and more resistance on ascent.

Anyone had this happen?

No matter what I did I couldn’t get the HTP to cooperate with BDB (creeping like a mofo). Got a 300 ft hank of Xstatic and it is working flawlessly in the BDB. The Bone and the Xstatic is a killer combo and highly recommended.

Sean, I have not heard other users report that change with a swivel vs. teardrop. Did you install the nano with the small end through the attach point?

Hit up Surveyor here. He is the genius behind the BDB. A true humanitarian, scholar, and gentleman, with movie-star good looks, and an easy going nature!

Or you could buy mine for $700?

I guess if your willing to part with yours for only $700 you have mixed feelings about it, lol. Surveyor sent me a message and I'm leaning towards the bdb over a rope runner. I'll probably make a call in a couple days. I'm new to srt. I'm going to play around with an oval vt today just to get a feel for srt, but I'm trying to get away from hitch cord.

Has anyone used Yale imori with the bone? Thats what I am currently climbing with. It is pretty soft. Works good in the spiderjack, but it doesn't seem like it stays round very well.
