Yeah, love mine too. I have the new adjustable BDB and it just takes a second or two with a screwdriver to fine tune it to different ropes.Welcome to the bdb club @rico . I've really been digging mine.
Oh yeah, and you can adjust it in the tree, don't even have to take the rope out. Just buck in and unweight the climb line and dial it in for perfection!Yeah, love mine too. I have the new adjustable BDB and it just takes a second or two with a screwdriver to fine tune it to different ropes.
Every device I have used heats up to some extent, and I’m sure the Bone is no different. I don’t do much bombing out of trees these days, so we will leave that to the youngsters. It’s high time we got a BDB up in some Reds!
I will be in touch tonight with the disclaimer form and a paypal payment. Thanks for all your help, and I am really looking forward to flying the BDB!
.Ahhh, Rico is loving the gear : )
I have a feeling you'll be wearing a Spaceman Protos Lid by the end of next year.
I never fussed around with my bollards.. my adjustable bone seems great right now on any line fatter than 11.7 , just started slipping on xstatic recently for me. The yales flatten out and slip after some up and downs over same section. The physics of the bone can seem counter intuitive with release point and pressure needed.. like may be changing to wide open caused the thing to bite harder on line , requiring you to apply additional force to descend..just a couple off the quick thoughts that may or may not help. Definetly stick it out for a few climbs and break it in. Goo luck!Does it require some break in time? I tried it on vortex, ivy, cougar and xtc and had to use substantial force compress the ‘bird’ to get it to release for me. It’s fine for moving around the tree but for descent in the canopy, I haven’t found its sweet spot. I have the bollard fully open, too. Thanks for any insight/advice.
Thanks rockettree. I will give that a try. I really like the HTP and was hoping it would work with the BDB.Try flipping the spine of the device around (the bit with the hole for a tending attachment) to create a bit more friction, like the baby bump mod for the rope runner. It helped me run on some new small diameter rope that was really slick.
Sink me, that is just bloody heroic! They would be ringing the medics by my third trip.. . . 8-10 runs up to 120 ft, progressively getting more agreesive . . .
The power of good coffee!Sink me, that is just bloody heroic! They would be ringing the medics by my third trip.
