Compact Bulldog Bone

I've been climbing DSRT a whole bunch lately with 2 Bones. Both are connected to the same swivel eye and the soft connections for tending are key. I can get the mini 'biner on my chest harness connected to both Bones for ascent and I can't imagine it working well with a single hard connection. The soft allows each one to do its own thing.

Gordo redesigned the back bone of the unit for large carabiner connection and I would call that a "hard" link (hardware to hardware). It seems like some climbers are using it that way. When it comes to DSRT, and the 2 Bones are side by side, you wouldn't be able to connect a single carabiner into both units in a clean way. With the soft links (one on each bone), you can get a single mini 'biner to grab both Bones for tending during rope walking.

I have only run with two separate bridges and swivels ,but I see youve been saying this a few diff. Posts , I'm going to try that config
I have some vid that I really want to compile. It's a mix of my phone and GoPro, and Ian's phone and GoPro. There's a bunch to compile, and it will take some time to get something well edited, but I think there's a good example of the benefits of everything I've been posting lately.

Mainly, to the swivel configuration, when you're attached to 2 lines and they are both off angle, you should still be able to re-orient your position without twisting everything up.

I thought I'd come up with a good solution for the bridue swivel bdb connection with this setup

I haven't tried it yet but now I'm not sure because attaching a lanyard or another line to one of the other attachment points pulls against the rotation of the bdb.

Also, you can see the shackle I've been using to advance the bone. It works well. The only disadvantage is that it interferes withe rope installation and removal and must be taken off to do so.

Been working with it a little bit here and there. I'm thinking I may have to find a way to make an adjustable bridge for my tree motion to get everything I want out of the setup. Anyone done one? If so, to avoid derailing, could you PM me how you did it and how well it works out?

Or I could quit kissing my sister and come up with funds for a treeflex.....I just dislike working from 2 different saddles. My gear storeage is already rediculously full.
