Compact Bulldog Bone

That's what I said I was gonna do, but for now I'm gonna try my fix.
Worthaug, I thought I read through carefully before I posted the thought...to make sure it wasn't offered up already. Must have missed your post on it. Anyway, The bend, or just make the upper arms out of thicker stock overall.

Even just wrapping something around the ends could help. It could facilitate more comfy operation to boot. If a hole is drilled in the end and it gets dipped in plasti-dip or similar, it could be all good. What's that stuff Kevin put on his Rope Runner bird...?

Can't wait to get mine and give it a fly. I haven't been this psyched for new tree gear for at least 2 years. No more hitch cord......ug....anticipation

Cool. The new Buzz format can do things differently than the old it seems. It seems that if posts from other users come in while composing one myself, my post comes in out of order and then actually gets repositioned after a page refresh...or something. No matter.

I like all the ideas that came out of this, and how quickly they came to fruition. With that comes another thought...to thin out the height of the arms towards the ends. Thin the bottom of the top arms, and thin the top of the bottom arms so they don't even touch. The lower arms could also be shorter in overall length as well I believe. I've found the Bone works really well in haul back setups without any additional pulley or sheave pinned into the nose. With those being shorter in length, that might also eliminate any contact. It's not with me now so I can't look, but I'll check it out tomorrow.

How does this look??

It may work well and I like the minimalistic nature of that potential fix. I think the problem would be that the top arm may then cross-load on the link itself. It is also nice in my estimation to have the projection of the bottom arm to squeeze against for release, not to mention the possibility for smoother slack tending as it was designed

It was seeing this feature used in Tyler's video (post 222) that closed the sale for me. A squeeze of the hand looks to provide easier control than having to pull down with your whole arm.

Short version...please don't shorten the arms on mine.;)
