Remember in '95 when Terry Glenn said they weren't worried because "Michigan's nothing" before their 31-23 upset? Blew their national title hopes and then went on to lose to Tennessee in the Citrus Bowl? Yeah, that was a good year! Also, we ain't losin. We have dominated them so totally for so long
If you'd like, we can up the anteI'm not lacking in the stones department.
The Fickel year SHALL NEVER BE SPOKEN OF AGAIN.
I'll accept my fate and derision regarding the pics on saturday. So will @Levi.CO
Just poking fun.Remember in '95 when Terry Glenn said they weren't worried because "Michigan's nothing" before their 31-23 upset? Blew their national title hopes and then went on to lose to Tennessee in the Citrus Bowl? Yeah, that was a good year!
I'm not saying U of M is going to take it this year. It's going to be a tough game, no doubt. Personally I'm always hoping for a GOOD game that's fun to watch, and not just a total rout. But it's one of the things that has always really pissed me off about OSU football - their excessive hubris and unsportsmanlike antics both on and off the field.
Good grief no upping...Unless you want a Kaitlyn Jenner avatar to have to follow the Trump one...If you'd like, we can up the ante![]()
Yep, it certainly works both ways. And BELIEVE ME, we remember the Cooper era of losing big games all to wellJeff, "we ain't losin" was just a little false bravado. We certainly could. UM is as good this year as I can remember them ever being. It would help if Speight was healthy, but they can still beat us.
Excessive hubris.... I don't know about that. We just expect to win. Every game. Seriously. We are definitely spoiled. Urban's record is 60-5. Maybe it is hubris, but when you win that much it gradually morphs into an expectation.
Unsportsmanlike antics- not sure we're any better or worse than any other program. I recall Mike Hart saying MSU were like their "little brothers", and a UM player shoulder checking one of our guys in the tunnel hours before kickoff. (I can also think of a few dirty plays by OSU, namely Bobby Carpenter's choking of Jim Sorgi)
Anyway, best of luck to UM. OSU is super talented but VERY young, which tends to bite teams in big games. Oddsmakers I think are giving OSU a very slight advantage. Honestly, I don't think it matters as either team will likely get curbstomped by Bama.
Stranger things have happened. No matter how it turns out, it will be an awesome end to the season. PSU came in unranked and now look. Four big 10 teams in the top 10and only 1SEC team. One of these days bama is going to fall apart. Get ready to cry in your beer swing!Oldoakman, thanks for making my day as I was trying to work through this flu. I looked down at my phone and just saw "Fickel Fickel Fickel..."
Mafe me laugh.
Correct me if Im wrong, but the BIG playoff scenario is as follows: if OSU wins saturday, and PSU also wins, you win the East cuz of a head to head win. You then go on and have to beat a pretty good Wisconsin soundly for a shot at the CFP's. OSU can only get in if they win AND their high ranking is enough for the selection committee to put them in the top 4. If Meat Chicken wins saturday, then they win the East and will go on to play Wisky.
I know - just poking back. I'd LOVE another 10 year war!Just poking fun.
Hoping for another Ten Year War which means Meat Chicken HAS to win some of these matchups to bring back a true rivalry. Nothing personal I assure you.
There were a lot of sad faces in Ann Arbor when Cooper was let go!Yep, it certainly works both ways. And BELIEVE ME, we remember the Cooper era of losing big games all to well
